Welcome.
I have a 2004 SLE pushing 36K miles and have had the following problems, all fixed under warranty.
Driver Information center, DIC, went bad.
Driver’* door switch pod had one bad switch.
Broken trunk lid spring.
I have not had a bad window regulator, leaking trunk or steering shaft clunk. I have an oil analysis done for every oil change and so far there is no coolant in the oil.
Overall the car has been a strong performer and what I have come to expect from a Bonneville. This is my second Bonneville.

... and back from the grocery shopping. i guess now i really feel like a bonne owner. i've driven 142 miles since friday, and my first SES. engine sounded just a hair grumblier than normal too.. just as i was thinking "didn't sound quite like that earlier" the light came on.
guess i'm getting that checked out tomorrow...

problem was a code P0455
bought a new gas cap for $9, reset the warning light, and it hasn't come back on (driven about 25 miles since). any other major evap leak, and it would have come back on by now, right?
hopefully that'* it all for now.

welcome! yeah, a bad gas cap is nothing, and these cars are plenty reliable, you will like it. and yes, i think the light would have come back on if there were anymore problems

well...since it seems like you care. the only things to help you along to be a good bonneville owner....
Flush out the dexcool and refill with prestone dex compatible or long life, dexcool is basically acid, it is pure evil. (wouldn't hurt to get it out of your grand am either)
After that watch your coolant level like a hawk and be sure to be concious of any large changes in fluid level
maintain your transmission, have it flushed at the recommended interval
for oil i recommend synthetic, something like mobil 1 or pennzoil platinum are good
other than that, keep her tuned up and the bonne should treat you well!

Welcome to BC from Charlotte NC! Everyone here is great - lots of good info. Nice car... I like white Look at the sticky at the top of 00-05 and ignore stuff not relevent to your non SCharged motor. You may see little things go wrong, but if you are observant, you should have no major headaches. And get the Dex out - I just did. Pure EVIL stuff.
Again, welcome!

thanks man.. high point here!
for the record.. the P0455 warning came back today. maybe not the gas cap? or the gas cap I installed wasn't better and the first one maybe was just loose.. who knows.
taking her into the dealer tomorrow for a check... they'll look over a few things for me (I've owned it for 278 miles) for free... wish me luck.
