yeah a friend of mine told me to do that...but i was also thinking.. if by chance the other guy didnt have insurance...wouldnt my insurance company or even me perhaps been notified?

I'm guessing, though, that the motorist who hit you has insurance coverage. Typically guys like that won't stick around the scene of the crime if they themselves could add a penalty to themselves.
Why not get a copy of the police report, determine the driver'* name, search for that person'* name, call him/her and try to work something out?

well considering that my accident made the newspaper.... lol i know his full name and where hes from.. lol but im thinking considering the accident is gonna be over 2 months old and i never heard anything...that kinda pretty much makes me assume that he has insurance of some sort
as far as the policy goes...to be honest with you.. im not sure how it is written up...
