Tell him to go onto grandmarq.net, it's an LTD Crown Vic and Grand Marq forum. I'm on there with mine, lol.

To clean an engine bay I use Simple Green and a big hose! I also cover the alternator with an old dry rag, but that is more for mental reassurance more than anything.
