Default Finally my CAI, well WAI

Finally got around to it!

And Holy Cow its awesome!!!!! I didn't really feel a difference in power but there is more because I don't have to hold the brake & push 2.5 grand to get the wheels to spin! And its sounds so friggen awesome at WOT. It seems like it shifts smoother too, but thats probably just me over reacting with excitement or something.

I got the Pipe and filter used from 94bonni (Thanks again). First thing I did was paint it white because i wouldn't be able to stand it being red.

And I had a few problems with getting the right sized reducer, the one i have is still one size to big but it works, so it can stay for now. I ended up having to cut the pipe, just over one inch to get it to fit, i'll probably go back and cut another inch off so it has more room. I didn't want to cut it and then it be too short so i just did one inch for now. I'm toying with the idea of getting a single washer fluid tank instead of my double because it is in the way. I still need to make the box for it, i have the materials (Plexiglass), I just need to figure out how i'm going to go about it. Making an entirely enclosed box or just back side and bottom. The way it sits now the filter rubs up on the hood liner, so if I made a box I could not have a top and just use the hood liner as the top cover for it and make the box touch the liner as well.

Pics Installed, i didn't take any during pictures :?

Notice the little filter on the bottom of the pipe . I was gonna plug that hole but walking through Auto Zone one day i saw that cheap white one so i figured hey, why not?

I'm so glad i got this in finally, though it still needs some working in. Whatever updates I have with the CAI i'll keep in this thread.

yeah figured as much. i'll plug it up and put the filter over the plug so it doesn't just look like some pointless extrusion from the pipe.

I'm super happy with it too, Thanks!

Oh 94bonni, you made the cut on that pipe originally didn't you? I found that your cut was alot straighter than mine (I used a Hacksaw), but you didn't smooth your cut up, the little metal shards that were kinda hangin' there could have been bad news if they had broke off and got inside.

And by the way i got that little filter hole plugged and squeezed the filter back over the plug
