Default Magnaflows and Goerlich Hi-Flo Cat

I've talked about it and finally now have a video. The exhaust was built from the exhaust manifold collector back with 3" to a Goerlich 608227 Hi-Flow Converter. The 3" is extended to a Y-pipe and then to 2-2" duals, each feeding a Magnaflow 14324. There is no resonator in the system. Watch the video and while your there..check out my dog Huey Magna Flow Mufflers and Hi-Flow Cat on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Thanks buddy! The video camera and the audio does not do it justice. It has a nice purr and when I took this the engine and the exhaust had not yet warmed up.

Ya, a camera simply does not do the sound justice. My car is much deeper then my video.

Hows the cabin drone? I have a stock SSEi exhaust cut off from the resonator back and want to put in a Magnaflow high flow cat and then I was thinking cut out teh resonator and go straight to the stock mufflers

It'* not all that noisy. If I get tired of the noise, I'll throw a resonator back into the mix.

I'm not sure you'll be happy with leaving the stock muffler into the mix, but you can benefit with a Hi-Flow cat as long as their is no considerable back pressure - kind of defeats the purpose of putting in a Hi-Flow cat. Right?

I have heard of DTC'* being thrown with the Magnaflow Cats and that'* why I went with the Goerlich - no DTC thrown!

Well I was just trying not to spend too much on the whole thing, I want something that sounds nice and deep but not raspy, I'll pry go with the Goerlich 3", cut out the res, and go to a Y with some new mufflers, I wanna keep the stock tips I had chromed too, how much should I budget?

I would take it down to your local exhaust specialty shop and have them give you a quote. That'* the best way to build a budget. Right now, without the headers on; I have $750 invested into my exhaust. When I'm all done and the headers are installed, I'll be well into it for $1900+.

Hmm, lets see, I spent $150 for my flowmaster installed, $70 for the cat, $50 to have it welded in. Another $50 to have the cat moved back for the headers. And got a killer deal on headers, $400. So, $720 total, ok, you can hate me now. No substitue for a good exhaust system.
