Default Out with the old and in with the new!!( beware 56K)

Time for a bit of whoreage

Got a new Magnaflow muffler installed today. we even reused ( with a bit of modification) the old tailpipes.

He even went ahead and welded it all in place. I didn't however have time to install the heat-shield tips from driverjohn'* 92 SSEi. That will come later.

I even have a before and after audio clip that I have to pull form video ( my digital camera) since there is no reason to stare at the ground, LOL.

You will also see after the new muffler it went on life support, hehe. Got the injectors cleaned properly. I supplied the muffler, we reused the tailpipes, so labor to install the muffler and also getting the injectors cleaned was all of 100$. Usually the injector cleaning is 100 on it'* own. It is nice to know people sometimes.

OK, OK enough talking now to do some whoreage, LOL.

taking out the old and quiet.

Finally out( he was trying to save my old muffler since it was only 4 months old.

Welding in the new sweetness

I had to lighten up the pics so you could see the actual hestshield tips. They are not mounted yet, I just placed them there to see what it will look like. I am gonna use high heat black on the tailpipes so you won't see them, and the tips will stick out more than they are. I had to put them on that far so they would stay up for the pic. I think it will look great that way without cutting notches in the rear bumper.

You will notice that the right side is higher than the left. We made it so I can "tweak" it once I go to put the heatshields on the car. I have to first find a way to mount them. The tailpipes look tiny but if we would have gone bigger it wouldn't work with the tips anymore.

Now that the muffler is on, time for the life support, hehe.

Audio clips to follow of the before and after once I extract the audio from the video I have.

Nicely done Mike, the restoration is coming together one part at a time, and I bet it sounds "better" then one RLD eh?

It sound F#$%en AMAZING.

Yeah it does sound better than RLD ( sorry but true). You went with flowmaster right?? I think the Magnaflow sound really sweet on these cars. It does really emphasize it when it pops, but cool anyhow. Then again not too many people drive it 60 km/h ( not MPH) in 1st ( around 4500rpms or so) then let off the gas, LOL. I had to "test" it.

I just downloaded a program ( thanks Rogue for the link to the company) and will post the sound clips as soon as I can.

Default Wait no longer!!!

Here they are the before and after audio clips.

at Idle it is just about the same but it is when you drive the car that it is different. In the before clip it used to be dual exhaust both coming out on the same side so the camera was under the 2 tailpipes.

After it is a better dual exhaust as you can see so the camera is in between the 2 tailpipes. But you should still be able to tell the difference. The new one is a deeper tone.

I also do not have a resonator but I have a regular cat on it. It was not really a performance upgrade but more a sound and apperance upgrade, LOL Hey wait a minute that would mean it was a ricer upgrade cause it was all show and no go, lmfao that was too easy.

just right clip and save as

Before:
http://www.malibuclub.ca/new_muffler/before.mp2

After:

http://www.malibuclub.ca/new_muffler/after.mp2

It should be able to be opend by anyone. They are relativley small files too. Original files with video was about 8 MEGs. These ones are about 500-700 kbs.

Wow that sure does sound better now, good job
A much lower growl now than the raspy yelp of the old one.
