It'* spring and the Cutlass wants to play
Thursday I started my CS up for the first time in 6 months. It started up with a flick of a key. After it had been running a while I noticed a massive coolant leak.
So into the garage it went.
This is the oil drive pump. It was leaking. I had to replace that o ring too. I ended up doing a double gasket job on it. And coating it with RTV to prevent future leaking.
This was the old O ring. It was so hard and brittle I had to chip it off with a flat head screw driver and small hammer.
The PCV hose was broken. Not sure if I did it or was already broken. I fixed it with an F-150 PCV hose line.
As of last night I only have a couple more things to do and then she will be running like again.
I replaced everything under the lower intake to everything above the upper intake. Good thing I can do this myself this would cost me about a grand to do at a shop.

I was going to start it, but I noticed a coolant leak from the heater hose inlet to the lower intake. I should of changed when I did it, but it never leaked before so I didn't bother.
The old one, the plastic clip and the upper rubber gasket were both shot, and the lower one was starting to get eaten away.
Much better with this one and I'm going to put a dab of RTV on it for better protection.

Good work Nate. Now that you did that, you just cursed your self with 3 feet of snow.

LOL. I really hope not. I really need to get the top down and drive around.
This evening. I replaced the trans cooler lines, flushed the transmission. I'm bleeding the coolant right now.

I put the headlight covers on.
Not very much light output. So I won't be driving with these on at night.
And now the waiting game. The first nice day I will drop the top.

I got it out today only for it to blow the heater hose line.
Not a big deal. Tomorrow I will buy a new section of hose and some new claps and bleed the coolant system once more and get it running.
