I know I havent been around in a while. New pics

Sorry I haven't been around in a real long time but I plan on sticking around. I have been way too busy with school and work. Anyway, I just got my car painted because the roof and trunk were faded plus some numnuts musta jumped on my hood while I was parked at school. So I got a new hood too. Let me know what you think.

WOW! I gotta say, that fresh black shine looks great! Good job.

Based on my experiences, a new paint job can make you enjoy your car all over again.

i miss my 95... dont ever sell it

but im still thrilled with the 00

Pontiac1983 12-07-2005 02:07 PM

Thanks for all the complements. I appreciate them all. I used PPG paint. I wish I knew how to paint that well but I don't. The only thing I did was take it all apart and sanding the whole car down. I then put the whole car back together making sure to paint little things like the windshield wiper arms and the headlight brackets.

Haro, what made you get rid of your 95 anyway?

Sol 12-07-2005 02:11 PM

Hey welcome back. That thing looks great.

The Series that doesn't go splat or flat at 3500. And probably his biggest reason was the trans was built up for abusive driving.

gm4life 12-07-2005 09:26 PM

Looks like a smooth car to me. Umm have fun keeping her clean.

harofreak00 12-07-2005 10:49 PM

i got rid of my 95 only because of the killer deal on the 00...

now please keep this on track for 83's sake... give him all the glory

Custom88 12-07-2005 10:54 PM

NICE car! I love the SSE body style in black. we had a 95 that looked like that car.. I wanted it sooooo bad for myself. I wanted to buy one back in the day too because of your car. I saw it when I first joined here with your headlight covers on. that car looked HOTT. (even more HOTT now though. :D )

Pontiac1983 12-08-2005 12:30 AM

yeah the car is gonna be ridiculous to keep it clean with the winter and also fight the scratches and swirls. I'm not looking forward to it. But in the spring im gonna wet sand and buff it cuz that hasnt been done yet.

vital49 12-08-2005 08:42 AM

What kind of wax do you use, or plan to use?

I highly recommend Zaino. Nothing else compares. I use it exclusively on my Firehawk and the finish is amazing.

Pontiac1983 12-08-2005 10:31 AM

i usually just used meguiars paste wax. but i would like to try something new. I won't wax the car til after winter anyway. I don't think you are supposed to start waxing a car that was just painted. It may make it look shiny but I don't want swirl marks to start up already

1993 SLE 12-08-2005 02:04 PM

i want to see this car at theSpring NEBF....i hope you can make it

You should wait at least a month, But I'd recommend 3 months!

The reason is because your paint is still curring that long after you paint it so waxing it would trap solvent still coming out witch would cause your paint to fade slightly, almost not noticeable but on a Black car I would leave it be for a little wail ;)

toastedoats 12-08-2005 10:09 PM

God i wish my car was black, but im so glad its silver, its so easy to keep clean this way
