sseiyaaround 01-01-2010 02:08 AM

looks good, im liking those rims =p

Danthurs 01-01-2010 02:35 AM

I like the rims. Where the heck are you that it's -27, not that it matters at all if it's F or C at that point.

SAMzGXP 01-01-2010 02:40 AM

Its -27* C.
I'm in fort mcmurray alberta canada.. All the way up north...

And now as we speak its -40 :(

Danthurs 01-01-2010 02:43 AM

Better you then me, that's all I can.

Bville_GXP 01-01-2010 03:23 AM

Even in snow, it looks great!!!! Def like the center tails lights also....

Mike 01-01-2010 03:46 AM

-40, and you just washed your car? Have fun opening the doors the next time you go out.
Just some amateur photographer advice, don't leave your headlights and fog lights on. Just parking lights. The bright headlights confuse the camera into thinking it's "daylight" and you will get dark shots.
Looks good otherwise!

SAMzGXP 01-01-2010 09:03 AM

Thanks everyone... Glad you like it... :)

-40 is the best time to wash your car :) reason is everything is iced out so when you drive around your car will stay clean.... If you wash it when its a little warmer -15 and up by the time you drive home your car is dirty again from the slushy roads and the cars ahead of you...

As for the doors and windows freezing, its not a biggie... All you gotta do is open your doors 15 minutes after leaving the carwash once or twice and you're safe.... This way the water dries and stays as ice and your doors still function same as before... As for windows... Don't really care much they can freeze all they want hahaha

Thanks for the tips though I will keep that in mind for sure... Don't know much about cameras... All I know turn the power on go into auto mode and press the big button lol but hopefully soon I'll get a little better with your and everyone else's help :)

Its just -30 to -55 about 3 or 4 months a year so if you wanna wait till it warms up you'll be waiting for quiet a while... And I hate keeping the big piles of snow between the wheels and all the salt on the car...

Thanks again everyone

That's good advice for most, but doesn't really help him. His parking lights are what's called "switch backs". So even his parking lights put out a 6000k light LOL.

Yep!,...... and we can just hit that mark too!
Kilometers per hour, that is. Bonne's sold in Canada have speedometers measured in KPH, not MPH. And go to 240 KPH. Which is 150MPH.

Looks great Sam!. I love twilight photo shots. Would have been even better if you could have done it just a little earlier and got a bit more light.

Black Pearl 01-01-2010 11:14 AM

Looks good Sam. I got my center tail light up project under way. I got an extra trunk piece and am going to get the lights next paycheck.

I'll get in touch with my body shop for you, I completely forgot. Do you still need those clips?

ringer 01-01-2010 11:31 AM

Car looks great, love the center tail light. I would love a write-up!

Are you washing the car at a car wash? Do you have a garage?

If you do have a garage, give this stuff a try. It will keep you warmer while you wash.

I love it! I could not put a drain in my shop, and I really like washing my cars (especially my chevelle) indoors. Ihad a hard time getting used to the idea of a "waterless" wash product as I did not believe it could really be 100% safe, but I believe it is. I have been using it on my chevelle for awhile and have no marring, swirls etc. from using it.

Basically, you put one ounce/gallon water in a bucket, dunk your wash mitt/cloth and wipe away the dirt. There are no suds, but the water feels "slick" and really emulsifies dirt. I do admit though, when I am washing my daily drivers in the winter and they are layered in snow, mud, dirt I do spray the car off at the car wash then drive home and wash with ONR. This may not be necessary though as others wash their cars with this stuff when caked with mud with no problem.

I know you can polish a turd and it will look good in internet pictures, but here is a shot of the hood of my chevelle under flourescent and halogen lighting. If there were swirls you would see them here. I have probably washed this car 25 times with ONR.

thank!!, glad you like it!

btw which lights are you buying? Catera or something else?

and as for the clips yes i do need them... it was looking at it yesterday its sticking out a little bit i need to get it fixed.. as i said before i went to GM they wanted me to buy a whole brand new center piece.. damn idiots..

2 days ago i went to a local bodyshop in town and they said they can order them, they called GM in another city and they said they can order them, but they said the computer said its a "nut" not a clip.. so im really not sure if im getting the right ones... they are only 1.5 each wont be expensive...

part number was #: 11514517
if they are the right ones you can buy then at gmpartsdirect for like 38 cents each...

lets hope its the right one..

and the tail light is damn easy.. lmk if you need any help.. Catera ones arent a must (i dont recommend them at all actually.. when i change my clips i might change my LEDs too lol)

as for the wash.. i go to the carwash in the winter time and i wash it at home in the summer time... its too cold to even think of doing it at home.. even in the garage (not heated) lol my skinny bones get cold too fast lol

Love the center tail light mod. Can you provide some instructions as to how you did that and what's needed to do that exact update for the rest of us. It looks really hot!!
