Guinevere @ SEBF 2K7

Since I finally got my camera video to work on the computer i have some stuff to show you guys!

Here's some of the video i got during SEBF...

After replacing the LIM and UIM Gaskets and cleaning things up of course we had to make sure we put everything back. We didn't find anything extra so that was a good sign!

Here's the first start up:

And the second:
What no one ever mentioned yet was we also cammed the L27
https://i111.photobucket.com/albums/...eSEBFTest2.jpg
J/K, it was a vacuum leak / #3 Plug wire cut.

This one is where we concluded the bearings were spinning  The camera doesn't quite pick up the squeal it was making though...

It looks like a nice engine bay. I'm very sorry about your car. Do you think you'll get to work on it soon? Also, are you putting in any high performance parts? ZZP has Series 1 roller rockers! You could also do an all-out motor/tranny swap to S2 L67! :D

93-SSE 12-04-2007 07:10 PM

lol!

yeah, the operation will start soon i think/hope. I left Guinevere in Florida with Brad (sandrock). It all depends on his and Don's (Jr's3800) free time and when they can get ahold of a motor. But I'm not going to push them to do any sort of modding for me, for one thing they have done so much for me already, two that takes the fun out of me doing it, and three i don't have any extra money to put into that right now :?

But if she had returned home and the bearings never went, my plans were to sheild my CAI finally, 1.8 rockers, magnaflow cat, ported exhaust EMs and intake and a jet performance chip. But that money goes into the new engine, which will be another L27.

L27 ftw :D

Too bad you've gotta hold off on all those mods. That thing would be on its way to being MUCH quicker.

Too bad about the last engine...but quite honestly, with the pics I saw of it....I'm surprised it lasted THAT long.

Good luck on the next one....take insane care of it.

radomirthegreat 12-04-2007 07:24 PM

That's a cool list of mods. I hope you get an awesome job soon so that you can afford to do that! It's very cool of sandrock and jr's3800 to do this for you. I read the original post before, but I didn't quite understand what's going on until now. Well, if my car ever breaks down, I hope it'll be in Florida.

Yeah, I have a great Job right now but with my current class schedule I am only able to put in 6 hours a week (Closed on weekends). I put this schedules together last minute and i had few options since i registered a bit late, but I made sure my schedule works better for next semester, plus after this week and a few exam periods next week i have alot of free time till January, wish i'll be working every bit of what I can!

And I am very thankful to Brad & Don! Thanks Again!

Yeah we did the intake gaskets and while the intake was off it got a little magic performed on it...

Once we got it apart we did not like what we saw on the inside.... I think it left us all with the OMG  Factor.. And the Intake gaskets were toast..

When we first fired the car up we knew we had a bad plug wire, but a miss was too strong and we had a hard time getting the car to idle... After tracing out steps we found a missing Grommet at the Booster.... Easy fix.... Fire the car up and what do you know... Nice smooth idle...

I have seen a lot of 3800's, but this one just shot me down... I think even William was in shock..

The next day I got a call, and was told the oil pressure was dropping off... Not good I said.. After hearing the whole story I knew there was a bottom end issue... We went ahead and yanked the pan to make sure there wasn't too much in the pan from the day before that could have possibly clogged the Pic Up tube... We found a little, but not enough to slow down the flow of oil.... And we saw the little metal flakes on the bottom of the pan as well.. That turned into a bad day... Both for William and his Bro as well as Brad and Myself...

We checked the rods while we were there and didn't notice any of them being loose... But upon start with Fresh oil the chirp was present... I think William had asked me if it would make it and I told him he'd be lucky to get out of Florida... And we didn't feel that it was safe for him to try either.. No point in him being stranded in the middle of nowhere..

So soon I see an engine in the future.. Car is still nice and pretty...

We just recently did Sandrocks Lower gaskets, found the front gasket to not be very happy at all... We think he was doing a little internal leaking as well... The inside looked decent, not great but not bad either... His gaskets were history too tho...

I have another buddy with a 92 L27 thats doing the same thing.... He'll need to do his soon... But he is now at 186k

I do feel bad that it happened to The Booze Brothers..

William.... Me and you are going to talk a lot more when you come down again

No probs Boozie...

Time is at a premium right now, at least for me. Work has kicked into OT for me (I just got back from NYC, and for a total of 4 days I worked 57 hours, with another day this week to pull), and I am not sure about Don and what he's got going on. It still runs, but the chriping gets more pronounced the warmer it gets. We are planning to swap in a longblock if we can find one, regasket the whole thing to make it tights as a drum, and get it back on the road.

And Hans thought HIS house was the H-body halfway house ;)

Sounds good!

Over that last break (for turkey day) it was funny cause I was meeting up with some friends to go to a concert (Coheed & Cambria), anyway We all met up in a central location, being the Movie Theatre parking lot, lol. No one could find me because they were all looking for Guinevere (a.k.a. The Boozemobile to them). But I was in the Jeep

I can't wait to get her back though, I miss her... :(
But I know shes being taken care of ;)

I'm moving window tint up near the top of my list of to do's, This Jeep has tinted windows and I love it, now i want it more! 8)
