Nice car, was it a Craigslist special? Has things in Vancouver changed that much that new drivers are marked with a sticker?! I am so out of touch, I miss Vancouver...

I'm not 100% on the whole new driver thing just yet, Jessica turns 16 in May though, but the way it works is you have to display an "L" while you have your learners license then an "N" for 2 years after you get your drivers license. The N is for new driver and there are restrictions for the first 2 years, any alcohol infractions and you loose the license, only aloud so many passengers, may include daytime only not sure.

It might not be making it anywhere.
Check out the Grizz is down post under 92-99 Mechanical..... :(

That's right O'Neil.
L for learners for at least one year and until they pass the Drivers test, then N for Noob....errr I mean new driver for at least 2 years and then the restrictions come off.

L - must have a passenger over 25 years old with a valid license. Not more than one person who is not in the immediate family. No driving after midnight.
N - only allowed one passenger. No violations allowed. Zero alcohol limit. If a violation then the two year clock starts over.

I thought you were kidding about the N badge :D

2000SilverBullet 03-19-2008 05:07 PM

Ya, I still have my N.
After 38 years of driving.
Haven't made it past 1 1/2 years without an infraction.

wow, does the N badge affect insurance at all?

Yes, I have 10 years safe driving as does Pmom. When Jess starts driving then you loose that for the car she is driving. Will be about a 40% increase :?
I think we'll get a used Sunfire for her, 5 speed with a half dead motor and new brakes 8)

Victor paid $450 for 3 months insurance........but from the look of things he might as well cancel it right now. :(

harofreak00 03-19-2008 06:37 PM

Wow, thats a shame. I can't believe the car only lasted 1 day. I bet he doesn't buy another Bonneville anytime soon.

Bonnevillan 03-20-2008 12:17 PM

wow.. definitely not envying that system. I got pulled over at 1am a week after i got my license with 4 people in the car... not sure if there's a law against it here, but curfew and passenger laws aren't enforced.

and $450 for 3 months? i pay 500 for 6
