Default status of the old SSE

Passed by the current owners' house today and found the 1991 SSE to be parked on the road 'cause their driveway was being resealed.

Slow leak in that tire was around when it was sold... for $500 when it could have gone for double that, it'* for sale again

It was parked as of April 2006 with the purchase of the Civic, and was sold in September 2006 to this house around the block. And it hasn't been on the road since. This car'* done a lot of sitting, the first stint was from July 2002 - November 2003 when we were waiting for the Cressida to die. Intial purchase was March 2001.

And it'* been very much a road worthy car every time it'* sat. Chase a half-tank fueling/stalling issue on this puppy and it'll treat you well, too bad I'm in no financial position to practically double the current fuel costs I have. And I would be giving up a 100% reliable car in doing so.

I miss it.

Maybe it needs too much to safety? Looks to be in solid shape on the outside. Did it have leather and a sunroof?

Cloth and no sunroof.

Car needed nothing to certify at time of sale... 100% certifiable and e-testable at the time it was parked and at the time it was sold, just keep the gas above half tank. the guy just couldn't afford to insure it I guess.

To bad about the passenger side tail. Those are a pain to find!

Very tempting winter beater tho!

I'd like to, but with that pesky 3.33 GX3 gearing - which I feel is WAY to short for the car - my current fuel costs as I've said would pretty much double (which I am not willing to afford), instead of 35-36mpg now (mostly highway @ 70-75mph) I would be doing 17-20 tops, knowing the way this car drives and the way I drive. 2000rpm at 60mph and 3000rpm almost every shift is bad bad bad for economy. For me this creates a difference of $30-35 a week, which is a goldmine as a student.
