Extra power outlet

Long while back I added power outlets on both sides of the console. Seemed there weren't enough for me.

There really isn't, I have a 3 outlet adapter in the center console for my GPS, radar detector, and Sirius radio

then I use the one at the back to plug in the inverter which I want to hardwire and mount once it warms up, or charge my phone since it is a constant

Sure you know this, but worth noting that the SIRIUS radio runs on 5 volts and inside the cig lighter adapter is a step down transformer. If one ever wants to hard wire the SIRIUS they need to wire the step down transformer also.

At the time I was trying to charge the cell, headset, run a detector (without a cord across the dash) and a laptop etc. I was going cross country with two other people.

This worked out great because I hardwired the detector, added the outlets so we had 4 outlets for the 3 phones, various headsets and inverters for laptops etc. Plus..it's much nicer than where the stock locations were.

I actually never looked that close, once my subscription is up I'm gonna cancel it, I don't use it enough to pay that much to listen to the same music that is on my Ipod

Never enough power, you should know that Bill

Just a couple more things to go along with this. There are some How-To type threads on the Explorer forum for hardwiring in an inverter and a powered USB for charging via those two methods:

Inverter: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...d.php?t=175037

USB: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...d.php?t=265134

Thought those would help
