Project:Switch panel (56k warning again) - finished....
ok so my buddy Jim and I, started work on the switchpanel tonight.... my main requierment was... ease of use... i was going to do three toggels all pointed up out of the area where the ashtray used to sit... jim came up w/ the idea of lighted toggels set back in so i could be able to close my ashtray... woot.....heres what we have done so far......
the basic idea... make this on abudget... using what we have... we used plexiglass that was purchased for my speaker box but never used to make the viewing window...
everything is cut from this basic idea... square is good... lol
we then opted to use the vinyl we had left over from the box (Not very much.. as we had left was what is in the pic) to cover the main faceplate.....
this is where the project begins to get interesting... as we decided this was too plain...
i got this idea... now this is STILL a rough mockup, however, i am considering going to the decal place here in town and see if they can make me up some "etched glass" looking stickers to put on this piece.....
this is what came out of the discussion between myself and jim...
this is where jim departs for the night...after lettiin everythin dry for about 2 hours or so i opted to contue the project but only so far as puttin the switches in, and takin the pics before i got tired..... (5am) here
the finished switch panel
the finished panel w/ switches... (yea i know one is off by a HAIR, that was jims amazing measurement and my skillful cutting... so in otherwords... it was 1/2 eachothers fault..... )
this is the product sitting in the opening for it.... its not set in 100% as we still have to wire switches tomorrow....... but you get the idea.. the final position will be angled down toward the front some... should be good lookin
and finally the cover for the switch panel....which will light up when the rockers are illuminated in the ON position....
i will have the completion of the project pics up tomorrow night
