DrugRunner 2?? My 94 Cutty you've never seen before

I finally was able to get some pics up of my 94 Cutlass Supreme SL I got after my Bonneville passed away. I took a trip to Mississauga/Toronto to see Jim this weekend and we took some pretty sweet shots. I will have to post all the rest later, but for now here she is 8)

Custom88 08-23-2004 12:35 AM

very nice looking Cutlass! You're keeping it in great shape.

bonnie94ssei 08-23-2004 12:37 AM

Jim we'll have to post the rest of our pics. We had some other great shots. Do you already have them all uploaded somewhere?

At first the SSEEEYAA plates looked out of place on the Cutlass, maybe just because I was too used to seeing them on the Bonne. I was actually thinking of just keeping these and getting new plates, but I would have had to turn these plates in and I didn't want to do that. So I figured I'd keep the plates for this car, and let a part of the Bonne live on so to speak  But they still apply to this car. After a day of driving it I was actually impressed with how it ran. It isn't the torque monster the Bonneville was but it is still pretty quick and ballsy, shifts nice and high, and it has a HUGE amount of potential. Plus 'sseeeyaa' wasn't only meant to refer to being a 'fast' car. It was more meant to refer to how I drive in comparison to most others  (although I have been babying the car lately). This car has eaten a good amount of rice so far though.

The Cutlass looks like it's in awesome shape. Good job.

BTW-I like you two guys' siggys...very cool!

Jim W 08-23-2004 07:00 PM

Those are the stockers...he needs em too...you should see the engine rock and roll when its started and shut down

Jim W 08-23-2004 07:08 PM

For the super deluxe get it on RSM dogbones, they want $70 bux, might be better to go OE on those one. Pete mentioned something about the fluid filled mounts...interesting fact, the car sat for a while, so I dunno if that helped or hurt the issue. Either way, I wont say to much about it...Peter knows more about it then me

ya......uh huh...ok

bonnie94ssei 08-23-2004 08:46 PM

Well I like the 95-96 GP's.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Glad you like our sigs too PJ

Don, I did paint the dogbones, and parts of the engine, so it looks new. That could be why you thought I replaced them already. The RSM dogbones are $70 each, I think..the guy at RSM actually wasn't 100% sure. But they are polyurethane and are claimed to recover 10lb/ft of torque. If OE replacements could do that I would just do that for cost sake. But if they are just rubber I won't get OE. The guy at RSM mentioned that I could just replace the rubber I have with the polyurethane bushings. There isn't anything wrong with the metal dogbones themselves anyway. I'll just have to find the right size bushings.

I put the car in drive today and revved while my foot was on the brake, and the engine didn't torque TOO much. But when I shut it off it kind of shakes a little more. And who knows how much it torques back when I give it all I have on the highway. I may have to replace that fluid-filled mount too. :?

This is a good car. 53,200 miles and runs great. I'll just continue to watch the coolant level. It has been dropping recently, and I sure don't have several hundred bucks to have the gaskets replaced.

Don, one question...I noticed this past weekend my coolant level was low. When the engine was hot the level was below the 'cold' line. Before this it was fine for a few weeks. I also don't notice ANY leaks, on the corners of the heads or anything. The oil level is fine (just got it changed last Thursday too) and there's no coolant in the oil from what I can tell on the dipstick. So where the he!! this coolant is going I have no idea :? I replaced the coolant tank today since it was disgusting inside, dirty, brown....filled it to 'cold,' drove around for a while, and now the level is normal so far.

Any ideas/ suggestions as to what to do about this little problem, or where this coolant is going? I never had to fill my tank in the Bonne. Can gaskets even go bad when the car sits? I figured they would go bad with a lot of use. Maybe I'll check the radiator closely for a small leak :?

For now I think I'm ok, because if there were any internal leaks my car wouldn't be running. Especially since I just did a 500+ mile round trip with no problems.

I know a lady that has 150,000 + miles on her 95 and she has still not had any problems with the intake gaskets... Bring your olds to florida and we'll fix it ....

I'll just pray that the gaskets are fine and keep checking the level. I wish my temp gauge wasn't broken so I could tell if I was overheating too. :( I'll have to find another gauge cluster SOON. Thanks for the advice Don, if I DO come to Florida, I'll have the car towed down just for the possibilty of it hydrolocking if I drove it.
