Default Full leather detail with Zaino!

Past couple of days I have been doing a full leather service to both cars, which includes seats, steering wheel, and armrests. Start off by cleaning them with a mild soap solution and then a good scrub with a magic eraser to get off the stubborn dirt/dirt hidden in the creases, and then topped off with the greatest gift to ever grace the leather world (seriously), Zaino Z10. If you haven't tried it, you should.

Here'* an in progress cleaning pic:

Can you tell which side I've hit with the magic eraser? I didn't even think they were that dirty!

And the Buick.

I have no idea why my carpet in the Buick looks so dirty in pictures, it doesn't look dirty at all in person! Maybe it'* time to haul it out and clean it.

The parts that look shiny on the sides of the seats are just the pleather, no matter what kind of protectant is put on it it always seems to end up looking shiny. I don't mind, really. Zaino is different than most other conditioners in that when it goes on, it looks shiny like any other protectant, but it doesn't need to be buffed. It dries as it is absorbed into the leather and leaves a buttery smooth, non-greasy/grippy/slippery satin finish behind.

But the smell is what sets it apart from most. Apply it, and then shut the door for an hour or two to let it dry. When you return you are greeted with the smell of a brand new car, no joke. This stuff is incredible, no wonder it'* praised so much on high end car forums. It lasts for several months as well.

The leather in the Chevy as some of you may remember, came from a junk yard and while in good condition, it was pretty dry and stiff as a board. It got a good cleaning and conditioning down in Florida which helped a ton, but the Zaino went even further and has softened it up to the point that I catch myself touching the seat while I'm driving. My friends look at me funny but I don't care, it just feels that good. Same with the Buick, but it was always soft.

Plus, when you repeatedly get compliments that your 13 or 14 year old car smells like brand new and they want to know how, you know you're doing something right!

Oh and after a wash or two and a few hard rains, my retrofit is still sealed up watertight! Looks like my method did the trick.

Thanks guys! You have to order it from their website, www.zainostore.com. They don't supply it to any stores that I know of.

Word to the wise though, they charge a flat rate shipping fee for everything, so the more you get the more worthwhile it is. I only got this one bottle cause I was trying them out, but I wish I had gotten more now. Their paint products are purportedly top notch as well.

Thanks guys, and yup, I did use one of those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Those things do wonders for getting stubborn dirt out of leather, while not being harmful to the leather itself as long as you don't get too vigorous with it.

Well, I went ahead and yanked my interior out for a good cleaning. I'm going to do more work on the seats while they are out, too. They are nearly there but the driver'* side is just soaking up the conditioner like mad. I guess it needed it more than I thought!

All out:

Size: 58.9 KB

My truck makes a handy place to hang things to dry:

Size: 88.6 KB

Here'* a couple of before shots:

Name: DSC02721.jpg
Views: 103
Size: 54.5 KB

I honestly didn't think they were that dirty, but there'* no refuting that...especially up by the door sills!

And a couple of after:

Everything will spend the next day or so drying inside (rain predicted tomorrow) and I'll do a few more spot treatments here and there, and some cleaning/conditioning of the seats/plastic bits I had to remove. I'm taking advantage of today'* sun and letting it all dry outside for now though.
