The Great Swap ....DONE!!!!!!! Pics added (pg 2)
so i have started the swap of the locking gas door, ELC, FE2 and the HUD yesterday. started at 7 in the am and stopped working at 9pm..... got lots done but still not even close to done..lol
list of things done
Gas door lock wired in
rear FE2 springs installed
rear FE2 sway bar installed
rear air assist struts installed
ELC inflator timer relay that selector valve mounted
ELC height adjustment arm mounted
seats removed
dash removed
ya it was busy
here are some pics
here are the difference between the FE1 bar and the FE2 bar
FE1 on the top FE2 on the bottom
left is the FE1 right is the FE2
JLD is the FE2 JLB is the FE1
FE2 on left FE1 on right
Endlinks after 13 years and 90K
Note. This endlink WAS NOT broken the bolt snapped on removal
passenger side
driver side
rear springs
little note about the rear springs, i really looked closely at the springs before i put them on, the coil diameter was exactly the same...now it gets interesting....there were 8 coils that made up the FE1 but only 7 that mnade up the FE2......both of my springs measured in at 15mm
FE1 rear spring
FE2 rear spring
inflator timer relay and the selector valve
rear FE2 spring and the ELC arm
dash gone
and stick a fork in me....im done for tonight

Hell yeah, good luck with the dash, if you don't put EVERY bolt back in you will know it with the rattles. Can't wait to see it completed.

Do the stickers on the springs correspond to the RPO codes for the suspension?
Your original rear sway looks like the bar on my parents' 92 Olds 88. I can bend it with one hand...

Nice pics pat...
The rear coil springs from the SSEi have roughly a 1200lb load rating as opposed to the 860 of the FE1 spring...
The SSEi spring also has a 10.5 " install heigth if memory serves...
Either way all of these items you will install will turn the SLE into a handler
