Default The beginnings of a double motor swap (56k watch out)

This was one days work on my car, one very long day. We consumed a few too many beers, not to mention had a few too many spectators asking too many questions. We got the motor all the way out, and now are in the break down stage. I have a few pictures, starting with the motor disconnected, then the motor out, then some drunk pictures in a car with no motor. It was not as hard as I thought. It would seem that the person that owned the car before me started to try to take the motor out. The a/c system was already purged, the engine bay had been cleaned. The power steering was emptied, and the lug nuts were not torqued down. I now have the motor out, and am going to start by replacing some gaskets, intake and exhaust manifolds and valve covers. I have already replaced the thermostat with a 180 along with the gasket. My buddy is going to clean the carbon out of the intake, and TB. I am also sending the tranny to get rebuilt so I have a short window while it is gone to replace all of these parts. I also have a new fuel pressure regulator, and am thinking of some aftermarket performance parts, but need to do more research. Feel free to post any recommendations. Also if someone has a center core support (the one the hood latches to) for a 96-98 bonneville, mine was damaged moving the car.

That was a SC SLE? Whoa that must have been modded, I don't know much about mid 90'* Bonnies but I don't think they could get the L67 in an SLE could you?

SE SC one of 364 manufactured in 1996, which makes it a rare find. It will soon be a NA SE SC, I have a feeling that is going to be more rare.

How can a car be NA and SC, two different intakes. It sounds like you are putting the NA into the SE SC car. lol

Ya, exactly my point. Confused too.

IMO, it'* pretty dumb to put a L36 into a SE that had an L67. Rarity factor is thrown out the window!

Plus, having the L67 in a non-SSEi or SSE is the true sleeper!

I am putting the L36 into the SC car, but I am putting the L67 in my other 1996 SE.

Why are you doing that? You just lost your VIN code and also the rarity. Makes the other 96 SE just look like a swapped car. I'm sure you have your reasons....
