Default SEBF 2K7 - The Booze Bros. Story with Pics (56k don't try)

Well heres my pictures..some are not that great, alot actually turned out not good due to bluryness or rain, I kinda skimed through and tried to eliminate posting some but i know a few will get through....

but i'll tell the story as we go

First off the drive down wasn't too bad, though it poured from about 5 minutes after we left my house at 3:40am till about when we crossed into Florida, we made it there around 3:00pm.

But we eventually met up with Brad in the beautiful Gold SSE:

Then we arrive at Brads house, after stopping at the LKQ JY in Daytona, didn't have my camera with me in there but Brad has pics of the interesting stuff . Anyway Friday night at Brad'* Place.

Heres Guinevere and Jinx, who will get to know each other real well in good time, as well as the '94 SSE over yonder too. Brad let me take Jinx for a quick spin around the block, and if I wanted boost before, holy crap i want it thousands times more!

Then we decided it was best to map out the GTA Hood Vents that night and not have to worry about it on Saturday with the engine being pulled apart as well. We mapped out the holes and we thing they are about where they need to be, Brad drilled pilot holes to mark where they would sit and also outlined in ink pen...too bad we didn't get around to the vents on Saturday, not enough time...but on second thought...anyone like the stripes? (Painters Tape)

Then its off to Ponce Inlet to meet up with the rest of the gang and photoshoot:

When we got to the lighthouse we had just enough spaces for each car to line up side by side, then Curt showed up in his beautiful 1990 Bonnie, we had to make room...re organize!

and excuse Guinevere'* dirtyness, she did come 750+ miles for this, cut her some slack

all lined up!
left to right: Brad & Karen, Mike, Curt, Walter, Aaron, Marik, Don and I

I found that once again my car is the only one with front Plates, but o well, my plates are awesome!

Beautiful Car, Inside and out and I love the bra on this + headlight covers. Definitely Beautiful

Unbelievably clean for its age, and sounds great too!

Very Very Shiney

Hella Fast SSEi

thats dedication Brad. (He started with his and rolled his way over to the next car for the picture

Brad and Karen:

the group

oops, hey Karen

Off to Pub 44:

spotted an SE along the way....00-02?

But first I needed gas...

on our way again

@ Pub 44, the food was great, and that place was really neat, very nicely decorated too!

The off to Mike'*

Alrighty...lets dig in

Thanks to Marik we had shelter, and it poured for a good few minutes...lightly sprinkled the rest of the day if at all...canceled the bon fire though :?

The UIM was a bit of a fight to get off, And once it did we found

ew

then we found this under the LIM Which = not good, if you couldn't tell...

have a look at the LIM gaskets...complete beyond failure...this was a DEX car untill this past summer...im not sure when it was put in there or how, but it was...I'm not starting an argument about DEX being teh cause but I'm just stating it....there was definitely other plausible causes...

old vs new

Battle Stations!
Marik on the LIM

Brad on the UIM

Aaron on my K&N

and my brother...

being himself

Started it up and thought it was a misfire, we did fine the #3 Plug wire cut, so Curt, Mike and I ran up to advance for new plug wires...meanwhile the guys found it to have been a vacuum leak...

At This point oil pressure was amazing. started up at 60 psi...so we decided to retire and get to the fooding and beverages in many cases

Barney got a little tipsy

uh oh, did he pass out already?

back for more?

We presented the clock, signed by everyone to Mike for Hosing SEBF again this year!

Thanks Again Mike! Loved the Cheese Soup Too!

Heres where my side of the story goes south...almost literally...
On the way back to Brad'* that night Guinevere was running perfectly, I even believe i noticed a good deal of a gain from the work done, since it was cleaned up, lined up and no more gasket protruding into the ports it definitely seemed to pick up better. We get most of the way back and a V6 Mustang passes me, I didn't race or anything but i did get on the gas a bit and played for only a couple seconds and noticed my oil pressure dropped from between 40-60 to just over 20psi, i'm like ok 20 is ok for it running right? and i'm like did that just drop because i got on the throttle? So i did it again and pressure dropped to frikken like 5psi and the dash starts screaming and i let off and pressure came back to 20-ish and I was following brad and now hes getting away from me and the car then acted like it was restricted and would not go over 70mph it was lunging and hesitating heavily so i quit trying and flashed brad a few times, and the next exit happened to be ours and we pulled off and checked oil, it was all good, pressure was still about 20psi then i believe. We just babied it the next 2 miles to Brad'* place and we decided some junk had fallen into the oil filter and probably clogged it, though the rod bearings were mentioned as a possibility then too. So i kinda wrote it off hoping the oil filter theory was right.

Heres in the morning about ready to leave:

In teh morning the plan was oil change and then make a stop at Daytona USA then say byw to Brad & Karen and head for Virginia. Well we changed the oil and didn't find any material in it at all. So we figured ok cool I'm good to go then. So we head for Daytona. About the same time it took before it happened again. This time i didn't get on the gas at all, i was afraid to, I had cruise control set at 83-86mph, whatever Brad was going, I had actually pulled up next to him and gave him a thumbs up because the car was running perfect again, oil psi was at just over 40. Well anyway oil pressure soon after just drops to 20psi, then slowly went lower and lower and then around 15psi the car again acted restricted and would not hold the same speed under cruise control or my foot, I flashed brad again and we pulled off, checked again and then babied it to the next exit and pulled the sensor, which pegged the gauge, then replugged it and oil pressure was back. Brad said it could just be the sensor, so im like ok. Well we continue on to Daytona since we were nearby, i was runing at about 17psi the rest of the way, droped to about 11psi when we pulled into Daytona...so we scrumaged through the junk yard, i picked up a single washer fluid bottle and then we went to Daytona USA to see the track, Which was awesome...heres some pics on I-95 again and Daytona

We saw this on the road, lol....hopefully its just a Halloween decoration

Visited Daytona USA, I'll only post a few pictures, trying to keep this to a minimum so you guys can load it and see
Dale Sr.'* Monument:

Then we decide to go back to Brad'* to have a look at whats going on with Guinevere, we figure maybe its the oil screen getting clogged. Car up on ramps and Droped the pan and looked in...

NOT GOOD (dumped into a clear container to see better)

most of that was just gasket material, but we did see gold flakes in the pan (can't be seen well here) There wasn't much, but enough to say rod bearing. Brad and Don both checked the rods, Brad thought he felt something Don didn't think he did. It was very minute, but we cleaned up re-oiled and re gasketed the pan ect, cleaned out the screen...and started the engine.

chirp...chirp...chirp...chirp...chirp :? which turned into a light squeal with the throttle
removed the belt, no accessories still got the chirping....and in neutral, same sound.

#6 Rod Bearing is beginning to spin, the car will not make it back home, or most likely not even out of Florida...Theres no telling where she might have let me down over then next 750+ miles from Brad'* Place

Guinevere gets to stay behind with Jinx for a while, My brother and I must return by plane, and we did today, but not before Brad took us for a tour of his work, and the Flight Simulator was awesome! Thanks again!

Meanwhile, Goodbye for now Guinevere :(

And Thanks for having us over!

I am indebted to all you guys for the hospitality and work that has been done and the work to come!

I could have taken more if I was thinking about it at certain moments...

though, I could probably trim this up a bit...Edited...I cut some stuff out, mostly the repetitive pictures on I-95

I'm Proud to say I survived SEBF 2007!!!

Sadly Guinevere did not

The south eastern states lack of road salt lets you guys have 92-95 and even 87-91'* that are in that good of shape. Looking good.

Agree with dillcc though. My cable connection had a seizure loading this.
