92 sse.....my $1,500 investment

I sold my SUV and purchased the Bonneville for a daily driver. I bought the car from one of my accounts. I was not really a Bonneville person, but saw the car, liked it, and let the changes begin. The hood, grille, and front bumper cover are from another year. I am not sure what I will do about that yet. I was chasing some parts one night and came accross "The Club". I am new but have already been helped in a couple of situations, and would like to say thanks. Looks like I am a Bonneville person now.

This gives me an idea.. /wonders if a 96-99 SSEi grill will fit my hood

driverjohn2005 05-21-2006 12:14 AM

Like the color! Looks kinda wierd with different parts... Was it in an accident; that's why they are on there?

Are those scoops stuck on or molded to the hood?

psyops 05-22-2006 12:14 AM

accident

Yes I looks like it took a pretty good shot to the right front. Everything is back together and works with the exception of the fog lights. The wiring is all there, I just need to pick up a couple. I have been considering fabbing in some aftermarket lights but until then that is why the front is meshed in. It cost me $2.59 to do and looks better than an empty hole.

Melissa 05-22-2006 12:18 AM

Nice color.. although if you need someone to come yank those scops off I'll do it free!

psyops 05-22-2006 12:50 AM

scoops

I know the scoops are aweful. The hood is the pretty dinged up, and should be replaced. I considered putting TopFlight decals on it since it resembles a golf ball. The scoops are a bandaid until I decide if I want to change the hood and front end. They only cost $20 and do hide a great deal of the damage.

My 93 SSE has those crosslaces, so you may want to check your years on those.

I PMed you something that may help you get the front of the car back to the correct one.

not to argue but thoes crosslaces "appear" to have the black inserts, and they started in 95...the pic could be lying tho

brianj 05-22-2006 11:37 AM

I see Bonnevilles come in "hybrids" now! Actually that combo of parts (sans scoops) look good together (at least to me). That looks like a nice paint job as well, and for $1500 you scored a pretty nice daily driver!

Can we have a closeup of the badge on the passenger front door and a pic under the hood?

;)

J Wikoff 05-22-2006 07:25 PM

Wait, are you the same guy that redid the stripes on his tails?

psyops 05-22-2006 11:58 PM

decals gone

ok. the decals on the doors are long gone, as well as the one on the rear, this was a joke with one of my accounts. I forgot they were on when the pictures were taken. Yes I am the one that repaired the taillights, and trust me the decals are gone. They decals made for a good laugh at the time, I better submit more pics before the joke is on me.

willwren 05-23-2006 05:53 AM

Decals? Sorry. From that distance, it looked like the "supercharged" badges on my SLE.

psyops 05-23-2006 07:36 PM

Yes, I did restripe the tails, As for the decals they are long gone. It was a joke, I forgot they were on when the pics were taken. Looks like I need to take some new pics. Jokes on me........................oops

psyops 05-23-2006 07:39 PM

I cant keep track of my posts........................ sorry to keep sending the same ones. The doors and rear said TWIN TURBO AWD. It was a joke with one of my accounts, a bit of a long story. But trust me they are gone now..............
