Wow you are doing lots of fun stuff! That LS1 for the RX8 is really going make it scoot down the road!

I am wondering if you have tried contacting tech support regarding the wiring./issues with the new EVO pro unit.
Their email address is: websales@diyautotune.com
The website with phone number/support is here: https://www.diyautotune.com/contact-us/

Yes, my son has their numbers on speed dial, lol. But thank you for the numbers. I may just try a call to see if I can get on top of the wiring questions myself. My problem is, if they start getting too technical I'll get lost in the verbiage real fast. Me and electrical do not play well together. I really appreciate the support and kind words though. I may actually get this thing running before I'm too old to drive it. Ha.

Hey guys, just an update. Well----sold the RX8 because I got twice what I paid for it and I was worried if I could get it to meet emissions once I stuck all the time and money into the LS conversion and not make it legal. So I used the money and added enough to pick up a 2002 Camaro SS/SLP last of the kind 6 speed. The SS will get the LS I'm building once it'* completed. I just brought the engine home once the block was cleaned , one cylinder received a new liner, line honed and the bore was finish honed for the JE pistons it will receive. I found a set of 4th gen 4.8 6.278 rods and had them gone thru completely and rebuilt. The 4.8 crank was already magnafluxed and polished so that is ready to go, just need a key way cut on the snout so i can add a ATI balancer. Once I figure out the head I'll be using, the block goes back to the machine shop for decking. Normally it is said that you can not use LS3 heads on a bore smaller than 4 inch. My LS is at 3.905 and the big 2.165 intake valve does fit fine. The original 1.59 exhaust still will not clear the cylinder wall, but a 1.55 just does. I plan to see how deep the valve has to go and if I only need a small amount of travel for the valve lift that will drop in to the cylinder, I maybe able to do a small scallop (grind out a divot) in the cylinder edge for enough clearance. Then I will use the 1.59'*. But if I can't I will look at adapting the 1.55'*. But I have to decide if that will restrict the exhaust too much to make the adaption worth it using the LS3 heads. I still have to mock it all up to make sure. If not I have access to a pair of 799 cathedral port heads that once ported should flow a full 300 cfm or more, to use. In reality the cathedral ports, even when ported could possibly be the better head than the ported LS3 rectangular port heads for this short stroke approx 312 cid LS. The ported Cathedral ports may still exhibit better velocity than the LS3'* and actually out perform the bigger heads. The LS3'* could make the bottom end just too soggy. I plan to buzz the LS to 7500-8000 rpm so I would like as much bottom end as possible and good top end to make it a good full rpm range motor. I don't want a "light switch". Anywho. Just letting you know what I've been up to.

The '63 has been started but the MS3 PRO EVO is having problems controlling the big 2000cc injectors. The car tries to run but as it tries to control the injectors it just keeps going a little bit farther out of range and then ends up shutting down. I do have an issue with one of the cooling lines leaking that needs fixing. Otherwise so far everything is working. Although the engine does not continue running so things may show up after it gets straightened out??? I'm hoping not. It'* too hot to do anything in the garage again now so I'm waiting for a cool time to drain the cooling system so I can get at the that leaky hose. But we're plugging away. I hope everyone is well and rolling along happily.

Hey everyone. I've not been on the site for a long time. I got rather disappointed with the project since I decided to go EFI. I tried an old MS3 unit my son received with a parts purchase. Could not get it to work so figured it may have been junk?? So I invested in a complete new MS3 PRO EVO. Got it all programmed and everything checked out (plugs firing, injectors firing etc) but could not get it to run correctly. When we got it running like a real car then tried to change one little parameter, boom, ran like crap again. I fought that crap all last summer.
SOOO. What did I do?????
I crap canned the whole thing and went back to a single 850 CSU blow thru carb on a ported Victor. I went back to my home made front drive distributor and badda bing, badda boom. Running like a champ. I've had it around the block now about 4 times. Runs good, just has a stumble on throttle hit but that I will tune out. The steering box I used during the build was a swap meet special and it just didn't do the job. I had even gone thru it to overhaul it but it was so loose it was worthless. So replaced that which forced me to build a new steering shaft. The brakes turned out to be so hard to use I installed a power brake booster. The rear tires were close enough to the new narrowed frame rails that they would rub on turns as the tire wavered on the rim. Just got done this morning cutting the inside of the outer rear fenders to make room to move the tires out 1/2 with a spacer for now. I will be buying new rear rims and tires once everything is finalized. I've even considered radiusing the rear wheel well opening to get the tire all the way out to the edge of the fender. I'll need some guts to do that tough, so I'm making sure I want to do that before I muck it up. LOL
I refuse to pay for using my pics on Photobucket that was supposed to be free forever, so right now I don't have a place to put my pics to use on the forums.
Thank you guys for remembering me. It'* nice to know that people are still thinking and wondering about you. .

Mark glad to hear it is now up & running with the 850 carb & ported Victor. For photos I now use " Imgur " a free photo site that works great. Just upload and copy & paste the BBC code directly in post.
I am convinced that once all the tune /booster /steering and wheel well work is complete, you are going to have it ready for the first track run!

Thank you. You are the second person to recommend Imgur. Now it'* time for me to go and sign up.The Gasser is like driving an old lumber wagon. But even just going around the block (literally) I've already gotten a thumbs up and a lot of turned heads. So it'* darn worth it, lol. I'm only 2 miles from the big Saturday night car show at 67th ave and Bell. My first debut will be there, maybe even this next week end I just have to get the carb straightened out. I assume other things will show up once I start getting into higher speeds on the main streets, but that'* all part of the journey. If I can get Imgur working I'll add new pics. YOU KNOW i GOT SOME!!!! ha!
