Roger I really appreciate your comments. I just wished I could get into a real fab shop. I would be in heaven. The stuff I've done as archaic and very basic. But I do with what I have. So I really appreciate the kind words.
As far as Bonneville, I'd love to try that as well as a road race track. But my Catalina is a brick so it would be a hand full. But a real top end run would be fantastic. I would love to build a full tube car for the street, using a Pro Mod first Gen Firebird. The bodies are modified just enough to make them swoopy without losing their identity. Would be bad to the bone. If I live long enough maybe. Right now I want to get this tank on the road and enjoy it for a little while. My previous car, a turbocharged '73 TA, was sold to a guy in Delaware. He called me one day and told me I wanted to sell my car. I said no but he gave me a Mofia offer, one I could not refuse, and it went to Delaware. Maybe the same thing will happen with this one and I can start all over again.

Love the pics man, and archaic or not you have skills working with what you have, hopefully one day you can play around a little in a fabrication shop.
Hope you enjoy the show, and I hope they enjoy your ride!

Only got one good pic of the Catalina at the Pontiac Heaven show Saturday. I'm such a retard at remembering to take pics. I always forget.

The show turned out beautiful. Weather was great. Turnout was really good and lots of enthusiasm and great comments on the car and engine set up. Because the engine intake system was always incomplete I think it confused people. With no piping to tie it all together, I'm sure they could not understand how turbos and a blower scoop could be put together. Now all the piping, water and fuel lines were together and it allowed people to understand what I am doing. How it all ties together now. You could see the A-HA moment from those that have been watching the build over the years and it was great watching people now explaining it to the other people what was going on. I think now they get what I'm doing. And are really up with it.
I also scored another award, Best Modified Pontiac. 5 awards now for my junker non running Pontiac. HA!!!

I was watching and saw that I was in the lead but did not know what the ultimate outcome was. Thank you for the votes and the recognition guys. It is very much appreciated.

OK!! NUTSO TIME. But first. Had the Cat out for another car show. Took some pics of the car after taking it off of the trailer.

Show got really crowded and there were so many people looking at the Catalina. Really made me feel good. At any time there was always a crowd around it. I parked it next to our tent so it made for an opportunity to ask questions. Boy did they ask questions.!! All were enthusiastic and not a single bad comment was made or they kept it to themselves. It was very rewarding. I had it parked such that people would round the next row (vender tents) and it faced them dead nuts on to the front of the Cat. I actually saw people stop in their tracks when it caught their eye. I think one guy had an epiphany when he first saw it. He just kept saying "Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ", over and over again.
What really made me feel good was some Father and Son interplay. More than once I saw Fathers explaining to their sons about the Gasser stuff (why the axle and the set back motor etc) and the Son explaining the turbo system. It was a really nice balance of passing information and like interests between the generations.
Now the NUTSO time. We have a local TV show called Roddin' and Racin'. They cover the car scene around the state. I was told they now have a U-tube channel for the show. I have yet to check that out. BUT!! They did an on camera spot on my Catalina and me telling some info about it. I was totally unprepared. Never, ever though of that happening. So I blathered off about the car, totally off the cuff. Should at least be funny to watch if it airs. They said sometime in June or July. We'll see how that turns out.

Hey Mark, glad the show went well and that the interest was high, as it should be.
If you do get to see the Roddin' and Racin video or a link to it..we would like to see it!
It is always great when father & sons are involved and interested in builds for sure.
It is how the youth learn and take on projects of their own later in life.
It keeps the older cars from the bone yard, and brings completion to builds eventually.
I always enjoy going to our local raceway and like to see the families and youth racing their own project cars (with help from Dad)
SO what are you working on next?
