Default Old vid of my suburban..

In July or August of 2K5..

you can see the body torquin to the right from revvin..

0-60 run in it.. MAN I MISS THIS SOUND SO MUCH

350 engine innit.

I see it now .. Guy who bought it put car-looking tires (smaller profile) and those hideous stick on bubble mirrors on the mirrors, and it'* never clean.

i've seen it twice this month.

Seems that most of 96-99s had that lifter tick/knock. My mom'* 98 Z71 had the same thing...especially at cold.

I, too, love the sounds of those trucks. The 305 in my 97 Chevy is a close replica. Especially at 5,000 RPMs.

Gotta love a 350
.. i had all sorts of problems with it.. i thought because it was a TRUCK it could have the living **** beaten out of it..

Went through a rear axel.. (pic) .. shattered the diff, etc.. pin went through the pumpkin cover when i tried to move it after i took that pic in october (no pic of the sheared through pin though)

$1,900.. 50 thousand mile rear axel put into it, 3.73 locker..
Guess a 9,000 pound truck can't do much.. i was a tthe car wash and some dude comin at me in an f150 about 2 ft higher than the roof of mine was flying toward me and there was a speed bump but i tried to gun it to get out of his way, rear axel hopped over speed bump, when the tires hit the ground, ring gear slipped on the pinion, whih in turn shattered everything from the differential to the ring and pinion and everything in between.. had to get towed home

Then the lifters from bouncing off the limter and holding it in first like a stickshift being an idiot.. $935.

And all the other repairs, A/c overhaul / recharges, brakes, suspension components, speakers, distributor, other random engine parts, etc..

:/

I miss it. I wish I hadn't beaten on it so hard. But then, I wouldn't of had my escort. WHICH i wouldn't have crashed, then been looking for a faster bigger large FWD sedan, which was the bonneville, and i wouldn't have found the club.. and i'd still be in the same truck.

I think though.. this was a better path

5 mpg was killing me.. my parents were chipping in for my gas use..

Correct! 3/4 of the 350 5.7'* i've heard in 1500 suburbans/tahoes/p/u'*, had that at start at cold.

i like the sound of my mom'* 4.3 Astro.. technically same thing as a 350, two less cylinders, same bore, stroke, everything, front of block, heads, valving, just two less pistons. best sounding v6 next to the l-series V6s' in our cars and the w'* and all the other GM'* imo

I had the towing package on mine and it was damn nice. We looked at a '94 2500 with the HD package and 454.. the steering was so loose there was a half a foot of play.. hell, even ours when we got it had half that but still alot.. nothing a new pitman arm didn't fix.

I do like how many turns it takes to steer them.. it lets you know you have alot of different increments imo to steer.

took like 5 steers lock to lock i think if i remember right.. so easy to steer also

Rear axle problems are common in 88-98 Chevy/GMC trucks. I replaced the rear axle in my truck at 93,000 miles with one that had 45,000 miles out of a 94. I did the job myself and it only cost me $250, including all the parts.
