Default Removal of black band around windshield glass NISSAN

I have this black ceramic coating represented as alternating squares of black coating, then clear glass, then black coating, (very much like a checkerboard), etc on the inside surface of my sunroof. same stuff coats the edges of our windshields and rear glass. it acts as an effective primer to assist in the bonding of the urethane goop your windshield needs to stay mounted on your car. problem is, on my sunroof, it literally blocks exacly HALF of my view/light. NISSAN used it to act almost like a tint. how nice of them. i want a clear sunroof thank you. so how do I get this stuff off? seriously. razor blades do not cut it...without causing serious scratches in the glass. super fine grit rubbing compound? help me someone.

believe it or not though it really appears to be etching, it is actually a baked-on ceramic coating. In theory, it could be removed. but not sure how. :?
