Well, after i had some minor mechanical issues with the bonneville, which have now been fixed, i bought a 1983 Mercury Cougar. It was old, i thought it was cool, had a V8 among other things, and started plans to replace the engine with a 351. well, I just ended up buying another car! my now third running driving car is a 1974 Mercury Cougar XR7 with that coveted 351 in it! and its leather!

Wow, that is a boat. And only two doors.

I love it! That's an awesome color combo. Green with white leather.

Sweet car! My dad had a 72 Cougar for his second car. It was green, so I guess it was that color. There's just something about the big 2 door boats I like :D

Nice ride.

That rear seat looks like an expensive couch. Why can't they make interiors like that anymore?

silversurfer 12-09-2011 09:50 AM

Very sweet find. XR7's are hard to find in driving condition or restored.

gollum244 12-12-2011 03:24 PM

yeah, Im really happy with it. the seats are awesome, like they've never been sat in!

wakefieldl 12-12-2011 08:32 PM

thats a really sweet ride..total uncle buck style :D

but MAN doesnt that engine bay and motor need some TLC! rest of the car doesnt look bad for its age, i may have missed it but how many miles is on the clock?

gollum244 12-14-2011 11:49 AM

mileage is an EXCELLENT question...cant remember, Ill have to check next time im at the car, its across the city right now, and i have no gas...haha whoops.

biggest thing that throws me off tho, everything is in miles, and my head doesnt do the conversion well enough to km...probably gonna get a speeding ticket next summer.
