The other thing about the square wheel is that it doesn't obstruct your view of the windshield and it was a "space age" type of thing.

And yes, a LOT of heavy people bought these cars!!

Hey Steve, I got a 1968ish Ford Mainline you might be interested in. Doesn't have an engine, transmission. Some glass is missing/broken. Seats probably torn out by racoons. It has central air via many, MANY holes. Tires are flat due to installation of central air system. NYS inspection was good until 1971. I think one of my uncles got it stuck in the middle of my grandmas 75 acres.
