Default Buick Park Avenue Ultra'* FTW!!!!

Scroll down to my next post for pics.

Dad just bought a 2004 Park Avenue Ultra identical to this:

http://www.getauto.com/vehicledetail.../?source=gbase

He won't be picking it up until Monday or Tuesday as I have to go with him (needs an extra driver) but it will be joining the 2002 which is Mom'*. Dad got sweet deal on it so it may end up being a quick turn-around for a nice profit, but I'd love to see dad cruising around in it considering all these years he'* forced himself to drive 10+ y.o. cars. Currently he'* driving his 1990 Olds 98 w/220k miles, which had 56k on it when he got it in 2003. It'* about time he get'* a nice daily driver (he has a nice summer weekend cruiser w/the Hemi powered 53 Chrysler, as well as his soon to be finished 56 Olds 98 Holiday 4 dr hdtp).

A pick of mom'* 2002 Ultra from last summer, but at this time it doesn't have the Vogues anymore -just Cooper'* with 1/4" white wall which doesn't stand well with dad except they have better snow traction than the Vogues. Also, mom'* 02 has had the grille upgraded to the 03-05 Ultra grille.

More pics today after arriving home -I just had to line em all up (2004, 2002 and 1994 Park Avenue Ultra'*). Sadly, the temps out there today are so FRIGGIN cold we didn't dare try washing any. Temps are right around 3*, with heavy north winds.
The car is a one owner car and just turned 90k miles, and it needs a abs sensor as the Service Stability System warning is on, as well as ABS and Traction Off lights are on. Drivers seat needs a new power seat track and none of the original floor mats are in the car -I should have gotten the one from Andrew before he threw it out.

A couple things I noticed are:

Buick emblem on center of 2004 trunk
No supercharged emblem on 2004 trunk.
Chrome exhaust tips on 2004 (2nd to last pic)
Ultrasonic Backup Assist (little box in headliner in last pic)
2004 is doesn't have oil pressure or Voltage guages like the 94 and 02 do, but it has the DIC which displays different readings.

Ultrsonic Backup Assist warning lights ($295 option on Original window sticker).

Car'* window stick price says : $43,265 (And then there was also almost $2G in other taxes, transfer, etc...)

Also noticed the 2004 has different interior than the 2002 -the 2004 has lighter seats and darker trim so it is two-tone as can be seen in the last pic with the Ultrasonic Backup Assist.

I had the hood open and was about to pull it in the garage for a little cleaning (at least what could be done in 25* temps). Was also going to check things over a little better under the hood, but didn't want to do any outside.

Still haven't gotten anything done besides pull it in the garage, and turn the two little heaters on in there... was up to 31* in the garage 20 minutes ago. Tomorrow morning I figure it should be up to around 45-50* which is a lot more comfortable for a some more cleaning.

Good question -he just called me to say he thinks it'* warm enough for me to run it up to the wash (today is my sunday and he'* working). I suspect he'* going to go for the quick turnaround cash, because he is really wanting a 1940 Chrysler like he had years ago. He has one located and the profit from the resale of this would go along ways in turning the 40 into the car he wants.

Kinda :( :?

Haha -you should have heard him screaming at my sister when he caught her at the gas station trying to sneak 87 into the 94. She is the main driver and knowing how she drives 89 octone would be no problem, but 87 would really be iffy, just from the fact that premium is recommended from the factory!! Dad used it a couple weeks ago and had put 14 gallons of 92 octane in before a 250 mile trip and when he filled up again upon returning home he found he had gotten 33.4 MPG. Not too shabby for a bone stock, excellent running tank of a 94 Park Avenue Ultra.

Nice line-up. I'd love me an Ultra...

Only thing I'd recommend are vogue tires, but you already know that
