Default 1996 Chevrolet S10 LS: Pics and vids

I felt like sharing my truck with you all...

This is my 1996 Chevrolet S10 LS. It was my grandfather'*, and he left it to me when he died of cancer about a year and a half ago. I have many fond memories of this truck, and I love it. Most involve riding in the bed when I was about 9-12 years old while towing my grandad'* boat going to the coast in southern Louisiana. I could go into a lot more detail but let'* just say this truck is really special to me...

Anyway, my grandad didn't drive it much so it has very low miles. 46,000 currently, and 8,000 of those are mine. Runs great, gets decent mileage for what it is, and can tow things a lot bigger than it is (my grandad'* boat was at least 24' long).

I enjoy taking it around on dirt roads periodically.

These pictures were taken after my paint restoration.

The dash.

4.3 V6.

Recently I installed a magnaflow dual exhaust on it.

A video of it at idle with a few revs.

At idle, followed by full throttle acceleration with an unintentional burnout (truck got a little sideways!) and then normal in cab acceleration.

Thanks for looking.

That it is. I remember the first time I drove it, back maybe four or five years ago when I was sixteen or seventeen. My grandad gave me permission to take my grandma in it to the pharmacy. I remember snapping our necks around a few times, not being used to so much low end torque (I was predominately a Honda driver before that point). My grandad was very proud of his truck and the Oldsmobile Aurora they also owned at the time.

thats a very clean truck. looking at the wheels, it should be 2wd.

you plan to leave it stock, or you got any mods planned?

Thanks, and it is 2wd.

I have a couple more things I'd like to do. Right now all it has is a K&N drop in filter and a catback dual exhaust system with a MagnaFlow 18" muffler. I want to get an AEM Brute Force intake setup for it, as well as a high flow cat. That'* about all as far as performance mods go unless I get really serious and supercharge it.

No, does that include the composite headlights as well?

I just shelled out money for a new grille (cracked) and some bogus composite lights to replace my sealed beams...didn't work too well, thinking of going back to the sealed beams. Clearly not a vehicle designed to be driven at night.
