My 1988 Pontiac Grand Am With 3800 Supercharged Swap!

Sup? Brett here! I am new to this site, but hope to bring tons of help to the other members of this site! If anyone has a question about ANYthing, I'll be more than happy to answer and troubleshoot to the best of my ability.
Check out my ride!!! Here is some specs, pics and videos of my swapped 1988 Pontiac Grand Am! Specs: Series 1 94/95 motor Rebuilt motor Bored .30 over Custom grind mild street cam Ported supercharger Ported lower Intake EGR delete Autolite 104's Wraped headers Custon side exit Dynomax exhaust Custom air intake Walbro 255lph fuel pump Custom motor mounts and brackets Custom accessory drive mounts and brackets Various 88 Turbo Grand Am and 86/87 3.0 V6 Grand Am parts used for swap Heavily built TH125 3 speed trans Heavy duty clutch plates, torque converter, shift kit, etc... All new OEM suspension and brakes front and rear, adding lowering springs soon, 1.8 front drop, and 1.6 rear drop! That sounds just like my 94 SSEi! That's cool. I see your ignition coils are all the way in the back, like on a 3800 LG3. Are you using some different brackets to avoid complications with the engine fitting in there? Also, I don't see the common Series 1 rear accessory bracket that holds some pulleys, the alternator, and the power steering pump. How did you manage that? |

Thanks for the compliments everyone! As far as the brackets and what not go, the bracket that holds the alternator and the supercharger belt tensioner is custom made as well as the some of the frame to motor mount brackets. The engine mount brackets and motor mounts are mostly from an 87 Grand Am 3.0 V6, the coil/icm bracket is also from a 3.0V6. The bracket that holds the power steering pump and the other tensioner, as well as the power steering resovoir is from a 88 Turbo Grand Am. The belt system has no idler pulleys. The radiator and cooling fans are from a 94 Bonneville SSEi. I'm making 10/11 PSI on a 2.2 pulley, traction sucks, torque steer sucks more. No timeslips yet, but it's hitting above 110 in the 1/4 on street tires with a nice smokeshow. I'll get some new pics and video up soon for everyone! Till then, the sleep will sleep...... :twisted:

Wow, no idler pulleys! That's awesome! I want to redo my engine bay to be like yours. It seems a lot more efficient, though there may be more belt stress.
