Heres another one, smaller with the camera sitting on TOP of the car parked next to me
So i was cruising down 275 and all of a sudden something starts pulsing reallly loud and deep (at first i thought my subwoofer was going insane) then i hear metal dragging. I had no idea what was happening untill i let off the gas, and the sound went away and i realized i lost something muffler related... and it was still dragging behind me
(an aside: What is the second bulky thing on the exhaust behind the motor? I know one is catalytic converter and the other is a resonator.. but i dont know which is which.)
Either way, i crawl under my car to find a perfectly clean break in the pipe right behind the bulky thing thats midway down the car. And the pipe coming up from the muffler dragging on the ground.
I was really lucky that no cracks or bumps decided to catch it or i coulda kissed my muffler goodbye. It didnt rust off, it just broke, perfectly around like someone cut it (why the hell are there only two exhaust mounts down the length of the car?)
Either way, a peice of sheetmetal and two exhaust clamps later, the noise in the cabin is brought down to a reasonable (non head pounding) level.. and outside the car just sounds pretty cool. I suppose i should get a real piece to fix it so the exhaust doesnt leak into the car.
