First 0-60 Vid

I hope I'm not wasting your time with this but I got bored and decided to shoot a little 0-60 run tonight. Somewhere around 8 as far as I can tell. Only "prep" is about 1/4 tank of gas. Sorry if the quality sort of sucks.

30-60 pull is pretty good, but the SII is lathargic 0-30

Nice Vid!

Dill, your car pulls pretty good, but I have to say after seeing Don's 95 with a stock PCM, you got some catchup to do. Your car pulls good for what it is, but your vid clearly shows the unrestricted 95 PCM has some major bawls.

Let's do some porting on your LIM and TB this winter. ;)

stock 95. Before his high-flow cat and ported TB.

Not to take away from you. That's damn good for a 97, but comparing to a 95 with the 'less constrained PCM", we can see the difference.

Notice the sig. My PCM isn't exactly stock :) But a good P&P would do nicely on the TB and LIM. I "recently" replaced my UIM with a sleeved unit and LIM gaskets (not Al at the time :( ) back in March with Bill Buttermore so there's no huge rush to get back down in there. We ended up installing Bill's smaller stovepipe and prototype sleeved UIM which previously belonged to 57ChevyThunder I believe.
I'm also graduating college in December and this is my only car and I have no garage, yet. The plan is to get a 00+ SSEi and hopefully keep this one. At that point I'd tackle a top end rebuild and new Dorman upper to go with (the UIM on there has a very slight warp at the TB connection). I feel like I have the confidence to get down to the LIM again on my own after seeing the job done, but I'd want another car (and a garage ) as a backup so I wouldn't have to rush anything. I'm still sort of new to the car game, but I'm learning quickly.
-end tangent :)

Edit - I JUST realized I never turned off my traction control :duh: Would that make a difference at all? I still got a little wheelspin as you can tell, but would having the TC on hold any power back?

Curious question....

I was bored and I was comparing vids, I noticed cody's Bonne was very slightly quicker than yours and cody has a stock PCM and a full tank while you have a quarter tank and a INTENSE PCM. Is cody's bonne a possible factory freak?

dillcc 09-21-2006 09:36 PM

cody? fuelforthesoul? Sorry I'm not up on everyone's names.

Bonneville92V688 09-21-2006 09:38 PM

Yeah, sorry.

I'm really trying to avoid any bias, but when I used this stopwatch ( http://www.arantius.com/tools/stopwatch ) I was at least 1/2 second faster than any of his vids? I tried to give it an honest effort. I would think 1/2 second is somewhat significant since it's a relatively short timeframe.

Am I using the wrong video? This is titled "better 0-60"
