Both are turquoise inside & out..
Both were built in Chrysler's Newark Assembly Plant,
just 1 day shy of exactly 9 months apart.
The New Yorker was built in Sept of '67 (no shoulder belts),
the Polara in June of '68 (has front shoulder belts)
Various govt regs took effect at different times for '68 model-year vehicles,
but both have the new-for-68 sidemarker lites:
Round on the Polara, square on the New Yorker.

Both were daily-drivers until a few years ago..
The Polara had a few owners, but the New Yorker
was owned and driven by one man for over 40 years.
Both are great cars, lots of fun to drive..
Everywhere I go, someone will say -
"My dad (or grandpap or brother or uncle, etc) had one just like that!
It was a great car! I loved that car!"

Now I need a turquoise '68 Plymouth sedan..
and then a '68 Imperial to complete the "set" lol

Yes, I love my GM's.. and I love my Mopars too.
I've had a few great Fords & Mercs over the years as well..
I'm a fan of the classic American sedan, the best damn cars ever built

Very cool cars. I can appreciate a classic 4 door.

Awesome cars. Those older Mopars really had some sharp looking lines :thumbup2

The car that I had when I got my license in 1974 was a 68 Fury 3 with a 383.

I also have a 63 Imperial Crown 4 door HT. It's my 5th Imperial.

nice cars, my buddy when we were in school had a early 70's fury 3 with a 318 and he put a 383 in it, that big car could scoot, leave me in the dust when my firebird had the 2.8

Back in the days when cars had personality.

People love the cars. I had a friend who only drove Mopar, and his 68 Newport was his favorite car. His Newport was quite a ride on a Saturday afternoon cruising down the highway.

Thanks for posting the pics and the history.
