My Daughters 1st new car....Not a Bonneville
My daughter got her 1st new car...2005 Toyota Matrix. Nice little car but drives like a truck. She couldn't afford a Bonneville with her driving record....

All toyota'* are trucks basically. I used to have a 1980 Toyota 4x4 truck....I've driven go karts on farm roads that were smoother than that thing on pavement.....Nice car though...They're kinda fun.

Being under 24 it is a pain in the *** to get decent insurance.
I drive an 87 olds and I actually pay quite a bit (around $110 a month) and yes this is with one ticket (4mph over) and one minor fender bender which was trully not my fault but when the other driver is 85+ and you are 17 at the time, it hard to argue with the 60 year old cop that wrote the citation.
I called my insurance company (usaa) and they quoted me around 65 a month for a 92-95 sse/se and around 100 for an ssei of the same year range. Although if I were to get a 96 and above it gets ugly even though there are more standard safety features .
Even crazier, if I was to get a 97.5-03 GP 3.8 - NON-*/C!.... I would pay the car off..again... in a couple of years with the insurance payments and that is not even with full coverage.
I dont see how an '05 model regardless of the specs would be cheaper to pay for and pay for insurance than a slighly used older bonneville, maybe I just am getting the shaft for insurance.
Those are "hip" cars though, my friend just got one and it has decent power for what it has.

My Bonneville is my first car, couldn't be happier (unless it was perhaps an SSEi)
Those Matrices are pretty cool though, there just like the Vibe right?

I know, insurance is crazy
I pay around 400-500 every 6 months for my 93 Bonne SE with that 170 hp Series 1 3.8 in it. Lol, funny thing is, I'll end up paying about 20-30 less with that 97 Aurora, despite the fact it has 80 more horsepower :P I guess the safety features (airbags, 4 wheel discs, etc.) make up for the ponies. The weight, too. Fine by me
