Nice!

All she needs now is a spoiler to beat the Zilla :smileR:

PRD2BDF 03-23-2008 11:21 PM

that car actually looks nice.

She even burn a gallon of gas yet?

Bonnevillan 03-23-2008 11:45 PM

heh. is that stock exhaust?

repinS 03-23-2008 11:58 PM

^Can't possibly be the stock exhaust.

Nice Accord!

wjcollier07 03-24-2008 12:22 AM

LOL. omg. major fart. is there any exhaust on the planet to make those things sound a LITTLE better? jees. I was next to a newer honda and it pulled away and the first word that came to mind is anemic

i'd love one of those little cars....in dark yellow green metallic. oh, that would be tight.

phatklan 03-24-2008 01:01 AM

who's cutting the grass?

GoldenBullet 03-24-2008 01:05 AM

so how long until the L67 swap? :D

2000SilverBullet 03-24-2008 01:10 AM

Nice car. I bet she loves it.

You know it even sounds pretty quick too.

chadow427 03-24-2008 02:36 AM

That thing got v-tac, yo?

willwren 03-24-2008 09:12 AM

Funny, I told her we'd swap in the motor on the stand.

"Ok!"

All stock other than the exhaust (muffler only). Gotta replace the passenger side window regulator soon, and do an oil/trans fluid change in the next week or two. I'll give the motor a once-over at that time.

You giving a motor a once-over generally doesn't define the same once-over done by another guy.

So when is that HORRIBLE muffler coming off there

Bonneville92V688 03-24-2008 09:47 AM

I'll pay for a stock muffler just so the noise can go away.

willwren 03-24-2008 10:09 AM

Hear the chirping? That's the Expedition alarm I set off every time I start the Zilla (cutout closed).

We'll deal with the muffler eventually. I have a few welders.

repinS 03-24-2008 12:24 PM

How's the timing belt on that thing?

willwren 03-24-2008 12:43 PM

It's black and round. How's yours?

gonzo4191 03-24-2008 01:56 PM

sounds better than the zilla!

Allmachtige 03-24-2008 01:58 PM

Lol she's all grown up now. I remember the video you posted a long time ago of her driving your the Zilla in circles around a parking lot...alone!

2000SilverBullet 03-24-2008 01:59 PM

:brice:

:slap:

willwren 03-24-2008 05:12 PM

Not rice by any means other than the muffler. The car is 100% stock otherwise.

PontiacDad 03-24-2008 08:13 PM

Sorry for the supercharger on the table Kim but I've come to accept your dad as never using it anyway, other than work bench :P
Nice car btw, try and keep off the side walks with this one

willwren 03-24-2008 08:26 PM

When she found it it was Bone-Evil's, she was ok with it.

(part of that had to do with the custom laser engraving, which she thought was super-cool)

That's true. The whole week I was there we never used it except for parts storage. Eat on the couch.

It was hard to time washing the dishes when the parts washer was busy.

driverjohn2005 03-24-2008 11:03 PM

That's a nice little car for her. Should be 10x better than the Kia :D

erics00ls 03-25-2008 02:36 AM

Your daughter looks almost like a Katie that I went to school with in the dining room pic.

That's not a bad looking accord, either. Very clean. Always liked that body style.

..Are you gonna put an M62 on there? :D

LeSabreUltra 03-25-2008 04:38 PM

Neat car. Before my LeSabre, I had a 1994 Honda Accord EX sedan which is mechanically identical to that car (if it is also an EX). Slower than grandma with a walker in a straight line but could handle pretty well. It was a fun car to drive.

Actually, the F22's weren't all that economical...I couldn't ever seem to get more than 22 mpg with a mix of city/highway driving. Sometimes as low as 18. It was rated 25/31.

Couple of things to be wary of:

I see you are already replacing a power window regulator...watch those, I had several go out.

Wiper motors tend to wear out faster than normal.

If it's an auto, expect it to shift rough. I've never driven a Honda auto that didn't but that one was particularly bone jarring at times.

I also had my ABS computer die on me, don't know if that's a trend or just my problem.

Hard to think of anything else really...accessories aside, it just kept on going.

My Civic is pretty bad, but my dad's 1992 Accord EX is especially heinous -- neck-snapping, even.

Completely normal it seems. And rough shifting, unfortunately results in a more frequent occurence of broken motor mounts

Water 97SSEi 04-07-2008 09:30 PM

LOL...there is a bunch of stupid ricer Accords/Civics at my school with dumb LED exhaust tips, off-color body panels, and they rev there engines and they all sound like shit and I laugh so hard. They think they got a fast car and all and it pisses me off... I just want to race them all one day and smoke the crap outta all of them. 8)

/end of Ricer rant

willwren 04-07-2008 10:02 PM

Take it to the dragstrip. Every year at WCBF we see a bunch of 'em turning their noses up at us during test and tune on Friday afternoon (we bracket race the next day).

They don't pay much attention to us, as they race each other, and we race each other, but you should see the look of "what a loser, he has high hopes' when we paint our dial-in times on our windows.

Then you should see the look on their faces when we nail those times (typically a couple full seconds quicker than them) during 'practice' bracket racing.

It's funny how many of them add weight with body kits and huge subs and amps, and leave all that in the car, but pull the back seat.

Wanna school 'em? The track is DEFINITELY the place to do it.

Careful though, they don't take much to be quick. There's one in town that i couldn't beat for the life of me, civic hatchback, b18 swap, sucker was quick!

BonneMeMN 04-08-2008 01:54 AM

2.2L ? They got some decent pull to them, atleast with a stick. Buddy had one in HS, drove well..

You call that a fart? That's not a fart... You should hear my car dump boost when it's above 10psi or so..

(well, hear it again, this time atleast half sober  )
