Look like you had some nice clear weather there for the work Nate.
That wet sanding has really brought the paint out nicely!

Thanks. The weather was great. I messed around with it a bit more today. The blotchy section of paint on the front center of the hood I was able to get that off. The old man that owned this car must have decided to just spray bomb it with some cheap spray paint.

I wet sanded it off, and it doesn't look half bad. Revealed a battle wound, but that just adds character on a 50 year old car with original paint.

You can kind of see the dull section of paint in the center of the hood.

By the time I am done with this car it will shine up again. If you see the area of paint around the top of the wheel arch on the pass fender I plan to tackle that tomorrow. As I was cutting the lawn today that was bugging me.

Didn't have time to mess with the car today. I was busy moving dirt. 30 yards of the sandy soil didn't get me far, but I have 10 more yards coming on Monday.

One project at a time, and this will get done. Now I need to spend $$$ on top soil and rocks.

Geez if that was my dog he would not be just patiently pointing on top of the pile.
All you would see is a dust cloud as the dirt goes flying in the air, just before he rolls in it!
Good luck tomorrow on the car...Oh nice tractor too btw..
What exactly are you doing beside the house there..besides making a mess?

When I used to walk out that back garage door the grade was so steep you could almost fall down. Now I can walk out that back door around the garage to the drive way on level ground.

I have three tiers set up, two are going to walkways, and the other is going to be a small garden area.

Around the edges I plan to get some large boulders so all the dirt does not erode and I will build a couple of steps into the mound so I can walk down easy.

Well that sound good Nate safer, level, and a garden! Look forward to see the finished results too! Do you have any plastic to cover, just in case you have any heavy rains there?
Talking about heavy rains batten down the hatches here. We are about to get clobbered again. Last week we got about 100mm of rain.
Now it tropical storm Ana about to mix with a weather bomb. I hope the winds dont get tot high here. I need power!

How are you doing on the passenger fender?

I have a gasoline powered tamper, and it'* not going to rain all week here. So I am not really worried about it.

100mm of rain is a lot. that'* almost 4 inches here in the states. LOL That would cause some flooding here as I am near a flood plain.

I heard about that tropical storm, hope it isn't too bad for you. That would really suck if you lost power.

Never got around to the fender today. I ran out of good useable sand paper and I gave up. I did manage to get a good start on the quarter panel. This gives you a good idea what I am dealing with. This car was spray bombed in spots all over to hide small scratches and was done poorly. (I would rather look at the scratches on a 50 year old paint job, than a 30 year old rattle can job)

This picture is before I put a rubbing compound and wax on it.
