Default Rebuild your own tool batteries

Cost about $2 per cell on line from China, but you are getting a hell of a lot better battery. Just have to be able to solder.

Where are these studies that show these cheap chinese batteries are better than once I get from Radio Shack and install?

The study is probably his initial cost assessment, which stuff straight from china usually starts great, but I don't even see any links to anything specific. For all we know they are selling potatoes...

Just personal use. I have not looked into it but I bet they are all Chinese batteries. Bought mine off of Ebay. The highest powered ones.
