DEWALT DWMT70773L 1/2-Inch Square Drive Impact Wrench-Heavy Duty
DEWALT DWMT70773L 1/2-Inch Square Drive Impact Wrench-Heavy Duty
I bought this wrench about a month ago, have not used it a lot, a few times removing lug nuts, but it has a lot of power, I am impressed.
my old Rockwell international one finally wore out. (it was very good tool in it day),
I have a smaller 1/2" drive of the 18 volt cordless impact nice tool as well, and have not had much problems with the Dewalt line of power tools so I thought I would try this one,
this one is light weight, and so far appears to have a lot of power,
I have 3/8, 1/2 , 3/4 and one inch air impacts, the cordless 18 volt (small one) and a full size 1/2 corded electric I hardly ever use,

That pneumatic Dewalt sounds like it will get the job done.
I would like to own a cordless with some real power/juice!
Going to start saving for an Ingersoll Rand w7150 20V Cordless Impactool.
I wish Santa would have delivered one of those for Christmas!

like I said I have the 18 volt (i call mini) impact tool in 1/2 drive and it put out 140 foot pounds.
not bad for the small size,
I have the 18 volt platform on most of my cordless tools, so that is why I bought the dewalt brand on the cordless tools, (I bought it to work on a tower about 90 feet up and it worked wonderful for that project and a lot of others since,

i had all dewalt 18v stuff at work, the tools last but the batteries are ridiculous. you need like ten to do anything. then i got the makita stuff that you can use the two batteries constantly all day and not have to charge it. much lighter too. once you use it for a while you dont want anything else, so i got a set for home too. the makita impact is similar to the dewalt, powerful enough for most jobs, even rusty crusty junk.

I use battery power tools in my job in construction. I have used many brands. They all seem impressive when new but the batteries seem to hold less charge each time you recharge them. After a year or two the batteries won't hardly take a charge. Replacement batteries are relatively expensive.

i do alot of work with them at work, used constantly.after many years still on the same ones in the makita set. its just the dewalt ones that suck. another thing i forgot they sit in the truck cold all the time and the dewalts didnt like that, the makita ones are unaffected, since its cold here 6 months a year, thats pretty helpful too

I get about three years out of my Dewalt nicads,
have not had any tools with the lithium, I hear there a lot better, but I have the 18 volt platform, and wanted to keep in the same platform, as I do have about 6 batteries for them. and did not want to start with a different battery type.

i would be willing to bet any one in construction who used these for a day or two would not want to put it down and agree its worth the expense. i had probably 700 dollars worth of dewalt 18v tools and batteries, not easy to throw that much out. if you use it all the time though you are buying batteries all the time at 120 a whack. the makita set was 459 at tool barn, i got the set that has all the construction stuff, circ saw, sawsall, impact, 1/2inch drill, light, 2 batteries and charger. i got a grinder and 1/2inch impact too and it all on the original batteries and really saves time and money on projects not buying extra batteries to get through the project. the dewalts would normally need 4 or 5 batteries and two chargers going all the time, and have to do them all at lunch. depending what i am doing the 3-4 that i have most times make it all day or more. the grinder and circ use it pretty good but if i am not using those the batteries last many days of use.

I did not say buy the Dewalt, there may be better out there, I told you why I did what I did, I have not used the lithum. only the nicad, and I usually buy the double pack for $99. my son thinks the lithum is 100 times better,
IF I was buying now I would step up to there "20 volt" (which is still a 18 volt platform), I buy Dewalt as where I am other brands are not avaible with out mail order, or much travel. If you have a better brand and greater availability, then go for it,
some times it not always having the best, but what one can get, and what works for you,
all I was saying the torque on the smaller 1/2" 18 volt Dewalt @ 140 foot pounds was impressive to me.
and since that is what I have experience with that is what I will report on,
I am not doubting your experience or your statements on your experience with battery life,

the makita 18v lithium is sold wherever they have dewalt, home depot, lowes, just never on sale there. and at toolbarn.com they came with the extra circ saw.
