Had a random misfire since i got the car... cant believe the hours i went through trying to figure this out... Started from changing the Ignition coils and ignition module... plugs/wires... etc
It was the damn MAF sensor the whole time!
i picked one up from the car yard off an oldmobile and voila!! no more stuttering or kicking/bucking .

Did you ever try unplugging the MAF and driving without it? Glad you found a easy fix.

no i found out it was the MAF because usually it would work and sometimes not. So i pulled over one time, shut the motor off, tapped the MAF. Restarted her and fired her up without any problems. That when i found out it was the sensor the whole time.
And yes i tried unplugging it, ran the same, tapped it , plugged it in and Paa! worked.. odd so i replaced it.

It could of been an expensive fix too, lucky i got it from one of my buddies @ the car yard. This thing runs around $200-$500 new.

Sounds like a bad wire or cold solder joint. You can find the whole throttle body with all sensors on it for less then that on Ebay.

yea it was bad solder because the socket housing could be pulled out 1/8 to 1/4 way out from the MAF
a quick tap usually was a temporary fix

So you found you had bad wires going to the MAF?

Did you fix/replace them?

not the wires the female socket of the MAF was cracked so it would come out when you pull on it, the wires were fine
