2011 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L Always Seeking Highest Gear
Good day all.
I was wondering what I could do about this. My truck ALWAYS wants to be in the highest gear regardless of speed.
I’ll be in 3rd or 4th gear before I’ve even completed a left turn at an intersection, when I should still be in second.
I did buy this truck used back in 2021. It came from the dealer with some unusual modifications, mainly, I mean it’* a 2wd truck and it has 33” tires (oversized), and 20” wheels (GMC badged).
Otherwise it’* completely stock. I got the Edge CTS3 programmer to fix the speedometer/odometer and turn off “active fuel management” (which was a God awful failed experiment).
So my main question is, can I do anything to manage the low shift points of my transmission without a major overhaul? Ideally I’d like it to shift to the next gear no sooner than 1800RPM each gear.
Any help would be appreciated.
