What bellhousing is on a 3800 rear wheel drive engine
Hello, this forum seems like it would be the place to gather some info.
A buddy and I, both retired, are thinking about putting a 3.8 or 3800 in a 53 ****** Jeep. Ideally we would like to use an SM465/NP205 behind it but not sure how to achieve this or if it is possible.
Hoping to gather some knowledge on these engines and what is possible

The GM 3800 has the GM 60-degree V-6 bolt pattern
The GM 3800 series II has the GM 60-degree V-6 bolt pattern

I don't know of an SM465 that has a 60-degree bolt pattern, but I know some had a BOP bolt pattern.
Not sure of anyone who makes adapter kits for this in stock etc., but I'm sure someone would be willing to make one for the right price.
If it were me, I'd use an appropriate 4L6x automatic behind a 3800 Series 2 or 3. Plenty of aftermarket support for all of this.
