Default Beware: GM Nightmare - Defective 2024 and 2022 Yukon DieselDefecti

I need to share my frustrating experience with our 2024 Yukon from GM. After 2 years of dealing with issues in our 2022 Yukon, GM finally replaced it with a 2024 model. Unfortunately, the replacement only lasted 123 miles before breaking down, throwing multiple error codes and triggering the dreaded check engine light.

While GM agreed to buy back the defective 2024 Yukon, the repurchasing process has stretched to a grueling eight weeks, and we are still in the waiting game.

To add insult to injury, GM expects us to foot the bill for a rental car since we are currently without a vehicle. They promise reimbursement, but the reality is, we're left in the lurch, paying insurance for a car parked in one of their dealership lots, all while they continue to receive their scheduled payments.

It'* disheartening to see a company not only struggle with producing reliable vehicles but also fail to streamline their processes and retain loyal customers. 🤦‍♂️

I share this story not as a complaint, but as a cautionary tale. I wouldn't want anyone else to endure the frustration and inconvenience we've faced. Let'* hope GM takes note and works towards improving their vehicles quality and customer experience.

Thank you.

I'm curious: What was the breakdown on the 2024?

Did it actually break down and leave you stranded?

What is GM doing about this?

Have they told you what codes?

I'm not trying to diminish this issue, but rather I'm curious what is going wrong on this 2024 Yukon.

Yes, It did break down, in a very harsh cold weather we had to shelter in a near by building.
It had to be towed to the dealer.
I am just like you wondering what GM going to do about their broken and over priced vehicles.
They told me there were many error codes, two pages of error codes according to service personnel.

I almost want to gander that the 'pages' of fault codes are data bus faults. When one module goes down, it tends to block other modules from communicating with each other, so then the other modules start logging fault codes because they see failures on the network. Otherwise, if it were a single component failure(ie fuel pump) you may only have a few fault codes.

Thanks, could be! Although, they could never get to figure out what the problem with the 2022 when they had only one error code (check this thread). I wouldn't trust they would be able to with the 2024 one, if they have one or ton of error codes.
All I know is that we pay for convenience so as to avoid having to spend a lot of time at the mechanic, and our truck spends
more time at their maintenance facility than with us. Thanks

Ouch, sorry to hear that. For what it'* worth, we haven't seen a lot of trouble with these here. You seem to be extra "lucky" in this regard!

A lot of the cars they sell at "new" car dealerships leave the lot with less than 123 miles. If they wanted to do the right thing, they could swap yours for another that'* on the lot, especially considering your history so far.

I am really curious what they find.
