My low coolant light comes on and flashes after about 20 seconds and it stays on even though the coolant level is fine. I took out the bottle and cleaned out the gunk and put it back and the light stays on. I unplugged the sensor and used a paper clip to short the terminals and it still stays on. In my looking it appears to be a common problem. There is a lot online about the problem BUT very few solutions as to what "Finally" fixed the problem....... a lot of people weighed in the problem with what they "think" could be the problem....... I don't want "think" I want solution.......what could be the problem.... I have ordered a new "overflow" bottle and will put it in..... but if you have another solution let me know.

Kind of a big ask for anyone sitting behind a keyboard on the other side of the Internet to have a guaranteed solution to a sensor issue on an obscure economy car from 25 years ago with unknown related factors. If you're willing to troubleshoot, we might be able to find a solution together.

I've read loads, and loads of posts on the problem...but very few solutions....... most people just put things that "may" be a problem..........I have tried those, 'Maybes" and none of them worked.

I'll give you a hint. They did not incorporate these into many years because of problems with the systems. Following the 'trouble tree' would lead to replacing parts and even the module and still there is that pesky light.
The reason you can't find a solution is because there'* never been one.

So how do I turn off the light....it'* annoying..... do I take the instrument panel apart and take the bulb out?
