I am hoping someone out in GM land maybe able to help me with the ID of a steering column. I am having an electrical problem with the 32 Chev roadster street Rod which my auto electrician believes may be emanating from the ignition switch on the column and he suggested I change it as the first step. My problem is I am unsure of the make and year of the column. I believed the column was from a 69 Camaro but I am unsure because the replacement switch for that year is different to what’* in the car.I have attached a photo of the column and of the switch (which was the only component not replaced during the build).
The column is GM, Tilt, Floor shift, No dimmer switch and the most distinguishing feature is a lever below the key barrel which when pushed down allows the barrel to be rotated back into the locked position and the key removed. The original ignition switch has only 3 positions whereas many of the replacements I have tried have 5 positions
If anyone has any ideas on what this column might be from and possibly a year it would be of great help. I have attached a copy of the car and the offending column and switch below

This was designed in to stop the cylinder from accidentally turning far enough back to lock the steering while in motion while allowing the key to be removed in order to seal the fate of those inside. Columns for automatics solved the same thing by requiring Park to be selected.
I can tell you that my family once had a 1979 Chevrolet C20 Crewcab 2WD with a 350 and 4-speed manual that probably had the ignition switch you are looking for. It was a bare-bones truck (no AC, no headliner, no dome light, rubber floor mats, etc.) but it was a good one. Wish I had it today.
