Changed the harmonic balancer tried to crank the car,

What is this



heard noises loosened the oil pan and

I know it'* a bit too late now, but always best to consult a service manual before performing any unfamiliar mechanical work.

your timing shouldn’t be changed by replacing harmonic balancer. Your engine uses the rings to know where the crankshaft is in its rotation which means all appropriately manufactured replacements should fall very close to the Oe design. Unless you played with it, your engine wouldmt detonate from a new balancer that was remotely decent.

what else was going on when you replaced, what did you touch, did ya break wires somewhere. Was this engine high mileage and burning oil like mad etc
