1957 Chieftain wagon, serial no. K757H13672
As the now-standard 17-digit VIN system had not been established in '57, I've been unable to run an analysis of (for example) in which GM plant it was assembled (Pontiac, MI?)
Any and all assistance greatly appreciated

Sandra you can call the GM Heritage center at 1 -586-932-5700 when they are open.
They have a FAC site here for more information: https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/faq.html
Or you will have to search the web more, for possible 57 Pontiac VIN# decoders.
K = Kansas from this site: https://forums.aaca.org/topic/69450-...vin-k755h2113/

Are the production/serial numbers for the entire plant for model year 1957?
Pontiac carried considerable other DNA (Olds in particular) in those days, so if Kansas City also assembled other than Pontiac, would those nos. have been picked up?

Sandra those are both good questions, that hopefully the the Heritage center may be able to provide.
Post back once you get in contact with them, and retrieve the relevant details.
