Default 1974 Camaro/2003 * 10

I have a question. Will the guts from my 74 camaro axel. (10 bolt) fit into the housing on my 03 * 10 ? My Camaro has a posi (not limited slip) and my * 10 is a peg leg. I want to put the posi unit in my * 10. My * 10 currently has the stock V 6 in it but I'll soon be swapping in my sbc 350 from my Camaro in it.

We'll need to know the specifics of your Camaro'* axle as well as the S10'* axle.

the 03 S10 used either a 7.6 or an 8.6 ring gear (both have 10 bolt covers). I'm guessing you have an 8.5" in the Camaro. The internals are different, like the 8.6 uses larger side bearings than the 8.5. If I remember correctly there is also a difference in axle splines

Or, go to the junkyard and find an S10 with the G80 rpo code. G80 is the coveted GM locking diff. Just grab the whole rear end.
