Default 99 Tahoe Passlock

So, GM Forum, does this (what I found in my search) apply to my 99 Tahoe LS 5.7L 2WD?

"you can bypass the ign key part of the passlock for nearly free, just cut the orange wires going up the ign switch, measure the resistance of the resistor in the key and put a resistor of the same value bewteen the wires going back toward the box.

that wont protect you from the passlock mod going bad but it takes the key out of the equation"

Thanks,
SS

You do not have the resistor in your key, so this 'resistor' mod does not apply.

Is there some place I can look to bypass my passlock system?

Software modification.

On both my 2000 Blazer and 2002 S10, I used HPTuners to disable ignition security.
That is the only current way I know of doing this.

It'* a programming device that plugs into your vehicle, it pulls the software file down to your computer, you edit to your hearts content, reupload it, done. Software, device and 2 credits.. $399.
