Default Wireless Remotes for 2005 Grand Prix.

When we bought the 05 Grand Prix it did not have any wireless remotes with it.... therefore, I got some remotes online for the 05 Grand Prix..... Problem is, with my GM Tech II scanner they will not program to the car (the only way these remotes will program)... I've even tried other remotes and they still will not program..... any ideas??

I know, silly question: The car has the keyless entry feature, right?

They guy we bought it from did not have a remote for it. ALL the Grand Prix'* I've ever seen has a remote AND there is no key hole for the trunk so it'* got to have a remote to open it (yes, I know you can hold the unlock button for 3 seconds and pop the trunk).

Online remotes may not be the correct ones? My Pk Ave has a GM UTA number and a FCC ID number on the back or remote for instance, they are really particular.
It may be best to to consult with an auto locksmith.
I did find this as well: http://www.keyfobprogram.com/2005-po...e-programming/

Thank you... I have to go to a locksmith in a couple days to cut an extra key for it... I will ask there.

You can take your VIN to a dealer and have them look up the options installed on that car, but yeah I agree it'* unlikely that it doesn't have RKE at all.
