Water in fuse box has lead to other issues - won’t start
Hi,
I have a 2016 Chevy Silverado which I bought brand new in the US and currently overseas with it. The Chevy has issues and is not running. It started when we discovered that the fuse box cover was loose and was allowing water in when getting washed. The car just stopped running and that is when all was discovered. The fuse box has been replaced with a new one but problems persist. I am failing to attach the video I took. Basically it is producing smoking from the pistons like the ring need to be replaced and won’t run for long. However it has only done 27,000 miles. I will post the video once I change the format.
The details of the car are:
Chevy Silverado 2016 1500 2WD WT, 4.3 L.
Thank you,

Thank you,
How did it get there?
Did it have any signs of abuse during shipping?
What kind of fuel is it getting?
Any idea how it got loose? They are not known for coming loose on their own.
Has the car been in any accidents that you are aware of?
Were the fuses and relays replaced with new ones as well?
What color is the smoke?
The Gen5 LV3 4.3 isn't known for issues like this, and honestly I've seldom heard of an issue with it at all.
. . . let alone at 27,000 miles. Hence my question about abuse above.
Does it not start at all?
Does it crank but not fire?
Will it run for a short period of time?
Knowing this will drastically change how we diagnose this.
looks like alot of auto correct typos here in this posting/thread, wow.. hmm....
is water getting into the relay and fuses center box under hood on these late model trucks a common well known issue?

After replacing the fuse box my mechanic found the smoke coming from the pistons is due to the rings being stuck to 2 pistons I’m bank 2. What do you think may have cause the rings to become attached to the pistons? Having to change rings at 27,000 miles shouldn’t happen. We were suspecting maybe when an oil change was being done, maybe the wrong oil was used. Any suggestions or thoughts will be appreciated.
Thanks for letting us know what happened.
Sounds like something bad about production, but at 27,000 miles that seems unlikely. If it is bad oil, it should have affected everything. Also if it is bad oil, they'd have to go out of their way to find it. Most modern cars will realistically run on 5W20 or 10W30 incorrectly with oil consumption issues short term and wear issues long term. It might be time to look back at where your oil has been changed and what with.
