96 gmc tranny problem??? Help please
Hello all I'm new here so bare with me, I just got a 96 gmc Sierra, traded my 94 Acura integra for it, I test drove the Sierra and all seemed well sounded good and seemed to drive fine, now the problem I got is that when driving around 50 to 60 mph there'* seems to be like a quick jerk like split second jerk then goes away and comes back while I keep driving, it seems to keep doing that almost like the brakes engage for a second, I don't notice the roms go up at all, now the real kicker is my girlfreind added the dude on Facebook to snoop around and on one of the comments in the pic of my car he says to another freind that the truck transmission slipped a little bit, I feel like I've been had, sucks cause he got a real nice car that I did a lot of work to and I know that car will run for a long time I feel stupid for trading now, but back to the truck, the transmission don't seem to slip just that jerk when driving around 50 or 60mph, could this be the tranny?? Or??

The guy that sold it to you probably interpreted the slipping for what your seeing is the torque converter kicking in and out.
Or it could be something simple like needing a tune up etc. Do you know the complete repair history of the truck? When was the last time the oil was changed, a tune up?

i agree, with torque converter pretty common. you can do a search for tcc problems on the 4l60e, at least on the truck you can replace those solenoids from the bottom, so shouldnt be too bad. and clean it out and put the new dex in it.

As far as tune up goes, the dude replaced intake gasket, I just got the oil changed on it, it'* the weirdest thing it'* almost as if the engine skips a beat for a quick second then it'* all fine for a little bit, I've never come across a problem like this, but the tranny seems to go through all the gears fine, doesn't seem to kick hard at all 4x4 seems to work good

Ok so last night I fueled it up before me an my freind took it for a drive again, so then we drove it and it did that buck/jerk thing so we went home and waited until this morning to register it to drive it, now we drove it about 27 miles and it hasnt done it yet so maybe dirty fuel? Or?

hopefully. i will give you some pointers on your engine. they are incredibly fuel pressure and quality sensitive. just having a bad filter will give you big problems. and the high pressure pump( 58-65psi at the valve) they like to go, so its best to keep a bit of fuel in the tank to keep it cool and guarantee not to suck up any trash that might be in the tank. on that series vortec fuel is the first thing i look at when diagnosing. on all other gms its ign stuff first

K so I went to start it today to take it to town, it started fine and then but then it started idling like after I through some gas in it, I shut it off let it sit for 5 minuets started it back up idled and ran fine, when it was idling weird I drove it and seemed like it was stumbling off the line, but after that it ran and idled fine I drive around for a bit today it'* still doing that buck/jerk while driving, I went to the autoparts store and pulled codes this is what I got
Camshaft position sensor A circuit
Bank 1 or single sensor
Intake air temp sensor
1 circuit high output
Egr valve pintle
Position circuit
I know the camshaft sensor can cause a lot but can it cause this?

do you have the numbers? they normally give codes that say what the problems are not just list sensors, that really doesnt help. cam sensors dont go to much people just get a code and replace it without it being the problem, its not the like the pre95 modules. i would pull the egr clean and squirt some penetrating oil in it.
